The unfamiliar smell in the air was sweet and relaxing. I had never been away from my home before. After spending my whole life in my home town, I really needed a break. I didn’t know my way around anywhere and I was pretty sure I was lost. Just as I was turning the corner, a girl ran straight into me! “Oh, I’m sorry!” I said straight away. She looked very excited, but her poffins were rolling everywhere. We started picking them up and placing them back in her basket. “Um, Hello, I’m Mel.” I said. She replied “I’m Estelle.” I saw something in her hand. It was a flyer for a...Pokémon contest! I love performing! “Are you lost?” She asked me. “Yes...I am...” I replied. She stood up and told me the directions to the town square. I thanked her and she was off. It wasn’t very helpful though. I was actually heading away from the square. Instead, even though it’s not very nice, I decided to follow her. Where she led me gave a huge surprise.
I was hanging out at camp, playing with my soothe bell, when Estelle came running up to us with a flyer in her hand.
"Gijinkas!" she called. I came up to her. "We have a holiday in celebration of us!" I looked at the flyer. It advertised for a Poke People contest. I purred happily. Entering a contest would be so much fun! I could show off my sense of fashion, and show my ears and tail without being chased by robo bouty hunters. This would be great. I wasn't paying much attention as I thought of my outfit.
Something flashy. But not too flashy. A sequin dress would be too... I don't know, plasticy. A nice sparkling dress with high heeled boots! Not too puffy, and summer dress length. I don't want a plain grey either. Purple! Purr-fect! (I know, bad pun.) Instead of my normal pink eyeshadow, I would do a nice lavender. OH! Instead of sparkly, maybe a nice satin! With a big bow in the back! And I could get extensions to make my hair look long and flowy, then tie it back with a lavender ribbon! It would be beautiful! I would have to work on my moves to make them look nice. I could put glitter on my nails to make scratch look like it opens a sparkling scratch in the sky. And I could dance while doing furry swipes, and make my soothe bell jingle! Oh! And I would need lavender ribbon to tie my soothe bell on my neck! GAH! I had so much to get! How could I pay for it all? I didn't have much money, only about 1,000. How would that stretch to buy everything? I would have to work to get more money. I didn't want to loan from another gijinkas, because they would need it for themselves.
I had to make it work out some how!

It was a beautiful morning. It was also busy at the market. Humans were every where, buying heathly goods and delicious smelling fruits. With a basket filled with goods in my hand and a grocery list in the other, I walked the markets streets. I decided to go shopping for the many gijinkas at home. The humans walked right passed me, with smiles on there faces. Some said good morning and others asked if I needed help with anything. It never accured to me that humans were THIS nice. Well they aren't so kind to Gijinkas, such as myself and the gang at home. But considering that I placed a black cloth over my epseon ears and I rolled in my tail, they thought I was on of them.
The smell of poffins caught my attention. I took a long wift of the air, holding my head upwards and closing my eyes. Then I let out a graceful sigh with a smile.
"Poffins!" I squealed. Nyarth has really gotten me to just love poffins. I followed my nose to the deliciousness. My nose lead me to a stand with berries and poffins with the word "SALE" over them in big bold red letters. Also a man stood behing the stand. Quite old but he looked like a very happy man because of his gay smile. "Ohayo gosaimasu, Pretty Young Miss. May I help you Pretty Young Miss?" he asked with his wide smile and squinty eyes.
"Kind Sir, I would like to purchase 20 scrumptious poffins. What is the price of that?" I requested. He stroked his long white beard.
"Hmmm..." he started off with. "For you, Pretty Young Miss, 500 yen!" He replied. What a cheap price!, I thought. I quickly paid the price and was on my way. "Oh Nyarth is going to love these!" I giggled.
"Oh! It seems as if I bought everything on the list, and still have a great deal of money to spare. Super!" I said to myself. Suddenly I walloped into a near by wooden pole. I took a step back and held my nose with a free hand.
"Ouchie Ouchie Owwie OUCH!" I sobbed. I went to a nearby window and took a look at myself from the reflection. Taking a look at my nose, I noticed that it was slighly red and there was a scratch above it. I then placed a bandage that I happened to have (( Always come prepared! XD )) on the little scratch.
"Ah man... I really have to observe my surrounding more often. No dazing off now, Estelle..." I whispered to myself. Turning back to the pole, I saw loads of flyers stuck onto it but only one caught my eye.
"Pokemon People... Contest?" I read. This is what the flyer said:
"Hey you! Yeah you! Be apart of the First Annual Poke-People Contest! Dress up as your favorite pokemon and participate in many events that could win you a prize! Come with the best costume too, 'cuz there WILL be judges! Place those Pika Ears on folks! It's time to become one with the Pokemon!!
(In small print) In celebration of the Ledendary Gijinka Day Holiday. Come and show your Gijinka support."
"We... us gijinkas... have a holiday? Poke-People Contest, huh? What a fun deal! I gotta tell the others!" I smiled and snatched the flyer off the pole. On that note, I ran to the clearing, on all fours (( hands and feet )), with the basket and flyer gripped by my teeth, to spread the news about this wonrderful contest.
