He was bleeding. Crimson liquid poured out of his side, spilling down his leg and leaving a red trail behind him. He had no tourniquet to stem his hemorrhaging; there was no time to stop and tend to his wound. If he paused for only a minute, the Bounty Hunters would catch up and shoot him without hesitation. He continued tearing through the dense foliage at a breakneck speed, hoping with all his might that he would be able to shake off his pursuers soon.
"I've spotted him!" someone called out from behind the thick netting of trees. There were several shouts of approval, and the injured fugitive realized he was surrounded. I was so close, too... he thought. I will regret doing it, but resorting to violence is the only choice now. With that, he slid to a halt.
"Ha ha! Thought you could outrun us, eh, Lucario? Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but no one escapes the grasp of us high-ranked Bounty Hunters!" a man cackled, stepping out of the bushes with a firearm strapped across his back. There was laughter in response to this jeer, and quite a few other Bounty Hunters emerged. All of them brandished their guns and pointed it at the rouge Lucario's head. "Anything you want to say before you get a bullet in your brain, boy?" one of them sneered.
The gijinka in question chuckled in response. "You really think you are high and mighty, don't you...?" he whispered.
"Huh-"
"Aura Sphere!"
The male Lucario's attack caught the hunters off guard. They shrieked as the ball of energy blew them away, thoroughly shattering their efforts to execute their target fugitive. Said fugitive smiled to himself, though it seemed to be more of a wince as the pain in his side increased. I need to get going unless I wish to fall unconscious on the spot, he told himself. After one final sweep of the immediate area to ensure there were no more pursuers, he took off into the greenery once again.

For the next few hours, it appeared as though there was going to be no more problems with the Bounty Hunters. However, the male gijinka on the run was feeling his strength waning considerably. Darkness was beginning to cloud the edges of his vision. He was unsure of how much blood he had left in his system; the anemic feeling overcoming him suggested that he had lost a good quantity of it. His eyesight was blurring ever so slightly now; he figured he had about five minutes before he passed out.
Suddenly, the trees surrounding him disappeared. He had arrived in a clearing. Was that a... mansion up ahead? Ridiculous, he told himself. I must be hallucinating. His head was pounding. He couldn't push himself any farther. As his legs gave out and he lurched forward, plummeting to the earth, he turned his head to the side. He was surprised to see that he was passing a small pond. The water was clear all the way to the bottom. He saw fish swimming lazily about beneath the surface, disappearing into the aquatic plants covering the bottom of the pool. Lotuses dotted the top of the water here and there, their pastel colors adding to the beauty of the scene. It looks so lovely... so tranquil, he thought. He laughed softly as he shut his eyes and welcomed the oncoming darkness.
