I thought about the forehead kiss as I sat beneath one of the trees outside the mansion. It’s just a custom us island gijinka still hold onto--kiss on the hand to greet a woman, kiss on the forehead to apologize, kiss on the cheek to comfort… Kiss in the lips….
I sighed.

Her face was inches form mine in two seconds flat. Holy Arceus when did Akira get there?!?!!
I tired to run away---darn woman made my heart frickn STOP! But she caught me instantly--when in the heck did she get so fast in ten minutes?!?!
“Hey girl, I dunno if you already know this but steroids are bad for you and a girl your age probably shouldn’t be--”
“Steroids?!” She speculated. “It’s called extreme speed! D:’”
“….Oh.” I stared down at her, feeling like a retard. “Well this is awkward…”
“That doesn’t matter right now--Akira wants to know about the sharpedos!”
…Augh. She’d won. With that kinda freak speed power I had no chance to run away now. :/
“Oh my Lantern--Fine!” Her face lit up and she sat down in front of me as I slide down the tree. “But don’t go running around the place telling everyone about this--it’s kinda y’know private.”
“Why?” She cocked her head.
“Well…” I paused. “Well to start I kinda just wanted to forget about that whole mess. Y’see darli… I mean Akira, I’d been lounging around nicely on my favorite piece of the beach, right outside my place when BAMMM!” It was kinda mean but I took pleasure it making her jump, it made me chuckle a bit.
All right you had your fun, Chii. Stop being a jerk--your just mad that she caught you.
Gosh I hated my conscious.
“Sorry about that.”
She nodded as if she understood and I continued, “The storm came--and fast too, I had barely any time to think but my first thought was that I had to get everyone out of there, especially Cheruu.”
“Cheruu?” She asked.
“He was like my bbf man on the old island! Hahaha, when I met him I was ten years old and he was only eight, he didn’t have any friends because he was shy so I took him in. He liked me until he grew up and decided my flirtatious attitude got on his nerves.” I smiled to myself just thinking of him, that cute little grouch of a cherubii gijinka. “But I stayed with him….And he stuck with me despite being annoyed.”
I paused….Well drifted off, really and Akira began to get worried. “Chii? Something wrong?”
“I really thought he cared.” I said darkly. “When I came to our small village to warn them, not a single person was there! I looked and looked, but there was nobody!” I scoffed, “I’d just assumed they’d up and left me there for the storm.”
She tried to look me in the eyes, but I wouldn’t look back. I hated feeling sad, it just wasn’t me.
“Akira’s sorry….” She said quietly.
Now that hit me--right in the heart. I put on a warm smile for her. “It’s alright. Now you wanted to here about the sharpedos, huh?”
She nodded, her attention full force.
“Well once I’d decided they’d left me, I packed up and swam out… But I never expected the water to toss me about so much. Then they came--like a frickn’ bad dream, too! What a time to see me and of course they just HAD to be in the mood to scratch my skin off!”
“So they did hurt you?!”
“Yeah. They enjoyed every minute of it, too…. I think they wanted to drown me.”
“How many were there?”
“Three--their leader was a gijinka. Augh, real nasty one. I remember him from my days on the island, one day he just appeared with his gang and started terrorizing our little islands. Just wanted to punch that jerko-fish in the face!”
Her face fell suddenly, as if what I had said upset her.
I leaned down and looked up into her face. “…Are you alright, Akira?”
“What was…. His name?”
I looked away from her, at the mansion.
“Shay.
…Why?”
