Melody glanced up from her pillow. She had thought she had heard someone enter her room, but it proved to be only her imagination. Sighing, she sat up. I need to take a walk, she told herself. It should work off my stress. She ran her fingers over the turquoise dress sitting beside her absentmindedly, before hopping off of her bed and entering the hallways.
As usual, she encountered no one during her wanderings. It's like I have this gijinka repellent about me or something... she thought. As she was making her way down the staircase, a flier similar to the one announcing that there was to be a Valentine's Dance was called to her attention. She paused in mid-step to read its message. The bold text stated practically the same thing it did earlier, except there was a new line of print at the bottom. "Note: All attire worn to the ball must be either red, pink, or white. It's a Valentine's party, after all!" it said.
Melody scowled. What?! Why didn't they put this in earlier? I already have my dress, and I don't have the money to just run out and buy another! I guess I won't go after all, then! she seethed, turning on her heel and storming down the remaining steps. "I have the worst of luck. I'm the only one not able to go, I'm sure," she snapped aloud. Suddenly, however, an idea began forming in her mind. "Hm..." she muttered to herself. "Everyone else will be at the ball, so there shall be no one to socialize with... What could I do? Ah! I've got it! I could help make confections in the kitchens to cater for the attendees! That way, I could put my cooking skills to use and fight off boredom simultaneously! Yes, that will be what I'll do! I must ask the club leaders for permission, though... I'll do that right away." With that, she took off, eagerly searching for a head of the gijinka group.
Continue?
Melody.

Yeah, short post. But I thought that since there was no mention of catering, that Melody working in the kitchen would be a nice idea.
Also, I haven't really been able to get Melody interacting with others, because nobody's continued the post... So if you could at least give a one-sentence mention of her, then it would help a lot.
