Meeting the Spheal

Melody stared down at the young boy standing in front of her. The poor child had tripped over something and rammed right into her. After assuring him that it absolutely all right when he apologized, she inquired, "Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you before...?" Try as she might, she could not recall such a gijinka being in the club.

"Um, no. I just saw this building and decided to explore. I'm Spielburg, by the way! What's your name?" the Spheal said brightly.

"Melody. It's a pleasure meeting you, Spielburg. You are currently in a safe haven for gijinkas like us," the Mudkip responded. She squatted down a bit to make herself level with Spielburg's height. "Why don't I take you to meet one of the head gijinkas? I was looking for them myself. You would get to have a sort of tour of the manor as a sort of additional bonus." The boy bit his lip, pondering over an answer. After making his decision, he gave a hearty nod. Melody giggled, took his small hand in hers, and off they went.

The teenager was transformed into a tour guide as she revealed the many sections of the mansion to her newly-found acquaintance. "...And these two corridors here lead to separate wings of the building. As you can see, one is for the girls' side and the other is for the boys'. I haven't felt a great need to visit the guys' wing, though, so I am unsure of what it's like... Anyway, the kitchen is down that set of stairs. The main lounge room is through those doors, and... I must admit that's all of the areas I've explored..." Her voice trailed off. She glanced down at Spielburg, feeling slightly embarrassed that she could not provide as much information to him as she could.

His eyes darted around the room they were in, as if making sure he had the place secured in his memory. "That's okay, Melody!" he suddenly burst out. "We can go ahead and investigate the sections we don't know about... right now!" He took off down a hallway, eagerly searching for an undiscovered place. "W-wait, Spielburg! We both need to see the club leaders first...!" Melody called out; however, he was already too far ahead to hear her. She had no other choice but to pursue him.

She blushed lightly as she ran. He's so adorable, she thought. I feel almost like a mother. Maybe being one isn't so bad as I had previously believed... An image abruptly found its way into her mind. An older version of her and Hon were standing side by side, proudly watching over a baby Houndor while a Mudkip toddler chased after a butterfly... What is my problem?! she asked herself, shaking her head to clear her brain. I'm not sure if he even likes children... Agh, there I go again!

As she rounded a bend, she was able to catch up to Spielburg, who was pausing to take a breath. Melody slid to a halt beside him, panting. "There you are," she gasped. "I was just going to say that I would happily explore the rest of the premises with you, but I think it would be a good idea to see a group leader-"

"Ah, hello, Melody. You just said you needed to see someone like me?" A feminine voice spoke. The Mudkip in question snapped her head up to see Estelle standing in front of her, a semi-surprised expression on her face. "Y-yes," Melody replied, straightening out her dress. "I would like to first introduce Spielburg the Spheal to you" - she pointed to the young boy beside her - "and secondly, I would like to make a request concerning the Valentine's Ball."

Continue?
Melody.

I hope I made Spielburg in-character. Also, from what I had read, no one had continued Estelle's post yet, so I snatched up the chance! Muahaha! >D
