"You know, there must be 20 billion other ways to say 'You're gonna run someone over' that are simpler than that." The Glameow said sharply.
I recoiled instantly understanding that she was not one of my karate students, and I hadn’t the right to say things as harsh as I was saying them. However, I was somewhat surprised that she had understood what I had said. Then again, I knew I was thinking lowly of people again yet couldn’t help it.
"I'm not totally stupid, you know. By the way, I don't think we've met. I'm Kat,” the Glameow, formally Kat said.
"I'm Lee," I answered the formality. Indeed, the Gijinka of this mansion had a way with formalities that I had never seen before. Then again, I had surrounded myself with students and fighting pokemon for the longest time that we had all pretty much conformed to a certain degree. Suddenly Kat seemed to smile at me strangely, and I got a strange sense that she was somewhat plotting something.
"Let's be friends, then okay?" She answered pleasantly. Suddenly her face shifted and it seemed as though she had suddenly remembered something. "Oh! That's right! I left my map in the sitting room!" She exclaimed causing me to raise an eyebrow. "Hm? Are you maybe going to the dance?" she whispered under her breath.
I had to honestly do a double take on what had just been exchanged. Was she really asking if I was going to the dance that was causing many of the people in the mansion to run around like Combusken with their heads cut off? The image of the previous stated suddenly came to mind, and I resisted the urge to laugh. After another moment, I shook my head.
“No I am not,” I said aloud to the point that Kat seemed to jump and look around nervously. “I actually am not a resident of this mansion.”
“Oh….” Kat answered. “Then what are you doing here?”
“I was more or less invited to stay the night,” I answered. “I am looking for a few family members of mine, and I thought they would have passed through maybe. However, I was wrong.”
“Oh maybe I’ve seen them,” Kat answered, and I was somewhat surprised due to the fact that this was the exact same thing that Luis had said. I wondered if it was some sort of trend that had appeared in the house to try and be as helpful as possible. Then again, it was just common courtesy after a few second’s thought on it.
“A Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, and a Tyrogue are the ones I am looking for,” I answered not bothering to give names this time. It was apparent that there were a wide range of Gijinka here, and the simple distinction of pokemon would suffice.
Kat put her finger to her chin and then suddenly seemed to smile strangely at me.
“How about this,” she answered. “I’ll tell you if I’ve seen them if you say that you will come to the dance with me.”
I blinked. Was she serious? What a… I turned my head to one side and considered the odds of Kat actually knowing something about any of them. They were extensively low. However, I had not found any leads in over a month, and if there was even the slightest chance that she knew something…and not to mention that it would just be once more day…. But that day could cost me something….
All this inner debate was silenced after a monument. I had made up my mind.
“Aright,” I answered before I could spur anymore inner debates. For the sake of knowledge, I would go through this. It wouldn’t be that bad. I had been to many dances back at the dojo when the master had deemed it part of my training.
