"Thank you! You won't regret it!" Kat said happily, and honestly I hoped she was right. If I found out later this was some sort of lie, I was not going to be in the best of moods. "And to keep my promise, I do think that I may have in fact seen them. It wasn't that long ago, but it feels like forever... You see there was a contest for Gijinkas, or, it was technically for people to dress up like Gijinkas. But Gijknkas came anyway for fun. I saw a group of Tyrounge evolutions, plus a Tyrounge, getting ready to battle in group B of section 2. I remember wondering why they were missing a Hitmolee..."

I tensed. They were all together? And they had been around here! I was about to press Kat for more information, and yet she bit her lip and seemed to be thinking more about it anyyways.

"Then bounty hunters came. I remember seeing them fighting before I was taken. I don't know what happened to them after that." Kat continued and then suddenly broke off into silence.

A wave rushed through me and made my entire form tense. How could she just leave off there??? Where were Chan, Top, and Rogue? The hunters couldn’t have… I found my hand tightening into a fist, and I was about to turn and leave when Kat seized my arm sharply. I turned around and stared somewhat coldly reflecting my own sudden hate of the very situation. I wanted to dig up that hunter base and destroy it from the inside out for this!

“Hey wait,” Kat continued. “Now you have to keep your promise.”

“If my family were taken by the hunters,” I started but then stopped. Indeed, I had promised something, and my pride was starting to run though my very being. It was a haphazard, my nature was. I was caught between my pride and determination to regain my family and the promise that I had just given. Sighing, I already knew what the right choice of the matter was.

Forgive me Chan…Top…Rogue… I would be there as soon as I could. Master had instilled in me the understanding that I would never be worthy of anything if I did not fulfill a promise no matter how small in stature. I relaxed and then turned back to Kat.

“Is that all you know of what happened to them?” I asked keeping my voice level and courteous.

“Y-yes,” Kat answered after a moment.

I sighed and gave a nod.

“Alright,” I answered, and with that, I started to wait. One more day. One more day couldn’t be too long until I was able to look for them again.

Kat seemed to be somewhat in a better mood now that I had relaxed. She put her hands together happily and beamed. Turning her head to one side, Kat started to address the manner of my attire. Realizing that this was probably a formal event, and I was not in any sort of condition to go with what I was wearing, I started to try and work my way out of the promise. However, Kat seemed to have the matter resolved before I could make this known.

“Do you have any dress clothes?” Kat asked with a strange pang in her voice.

“….No,” I answered. “I wasn’t even…”

“Oh well,’ Kat answered sharply. “We’ll just get you some then. I’m sure I can whip something up tehehehe.”

Her laughter startled me to say the least, but before I could raise some sort of calm protest, Kat had already seized me by the wrist and was starting to run down the hall.

“I have just the thing!” Kat continued.

“Wait a moment,” I answered causing Kat to stop and turn sharply back towards me. “I need to get my bag from the backyard.” I explained.

“Ok,” Kat answered and then suddenly released her grip, ran some distance, and came back carrying my bag. I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow somewhat surprised that she was able to lift the bag. It was not something a normal person would be able to do. I wondered if maybe she had ever attended a dojo. Then again, I threw this thought out the window highly doubting that one such as he would ever come into a dojo. There were few girls that ever trained, and most of them, like my kid sister Rogue, were more like boys than girls, and Kat was obviously not one of these types.

I took the bag and then set it over my shoulder. Kat seemed to asses this and then started leading me to some room in this strange mansion. Pulling open a door, I found that we had entered a midsized room that resembled the one that I had been asked to stay in the night before. Kat turned and seemed to disappear into a closet of some sort. Coming back out, she had a black, white, and red suit. I wondered exactly why she had such a thing and then thought that maybe she had made it for someone else first.

“It might be too small,” Kat said, and the side of her face made a half smile.

I took the jacket and put it over my shirt. The shoulders were just a tad tight, but it would do. Not my choice of colors either, and yet once again it would do. After a moment, I slipped the jacket off and looked to see Kat with her hand on her chin and in some sort of mental debate.

“It will do,” I said after a moment seeming to break Kat’s concentration.

“Are you sure?” Kat asked after a moment.

“Yes it will be fine,” I answered back somewhat dryly.

My mind was starting to shift back to what Kat had said about the hunters, and it put me slightly on edge again. I wanted to know exactly what had happened, and yet I couldn’t. I would stay for another day. What could… one more day… do? Suddenly I was left wondering if Ken the Combusken was with them as well. He had been training with Rogue the day we had all been separated. I couldn’t help but half smile thinking about it.

“Did you see a Combusken with them on the contest day?” I asked after a moment. . …

Kat seemed to understand that I was still on the matter of my family and went into her own thought again. After half a moment, she nodded.

“Ya there was a Combusken standing by the Tyrogue for just a bit, but I only saw him like once,” Kat answered back.

“Ah,” I answered.

Kat’s face seemed to be composed between a mix of agitation and excitement, and I realized that I was probably ruining some sort of thought that was going through her head about the dance. I could somewhat tell that she was worried for one reason or another. I decided not to pursue the matter again until after the dance. I would be courteous.
