Quiet and Peaceful...

Shupple

“That... Sounds good...” I answered back. “I’m sure… we could find a breakfast place...”

A breakfast place sounded almost fabulous in my ears. I really didn't want to go back and see all of those people back in the kitchen who saw the incident. Going out to eat almost seemed better then anything right now...

“I think I saw a doughnut and koachie place while we were shopping yesterday...” Mear suggested, it seeming like the only place. A doughnut and koachie place seemed nice right now... Something sweet and something healthy... The idea seemed sweet, and not just in the food technical type.

"That works," I said calmly, "Let's... go... now." I wasn't sure if he was going to say yes to that, since I said now, but he seemingly agreed.

"Alright," Mear told me as he opened up the door and it told me he was being polite and I walked through the door first, quickly grabbing my parasol, and he followed behind.

We passed by the main room and kitchen, but it seemed that nobody noticed that we were passing by, and for that, I was thankful. We went quietly downstairs and out the door, I opened up my parasol and walked beside Mear, feeling... happy.

I looked up at the sky, squinting from the sunlight that hit my eyes, even if the sun was in the opposite direction I was walking, and saw it was peaceful today. Clear sky with a few clouds. Technically a good omen in my terms, but I put that off to the side and put it just as a beautiful day.

"It's... beautiful today..." I said aimlessly into the air, and I looked at Mear for some reason I didn't exactly know.

"It is," Mear told me. He sounded calm, just like I was at the moment.

We slowly got to town and found the town was mostly bustling with men. Well, I would guess these guys forgot to do something for the person they were in love with, so right now, they're up before their wives or girlfriends are. I chuckled just a little and we passed by the men, who, I think, stared at us a little and then smiled. What just were they thinking?

We slowly found the place called the Chikorita Cafe. It sounded nice... We entered and sat ourselves down. It was a little bustling, but not excessively, the Cafe. A Gardevoir Gijinka came up to us.

"What can I get you two this fine morning? Drinks first?" She handed us two, small menus, and I nodded for the drinks.

"Okay, what can I get you?" She looked at Mear first and he did a small smile towards her and looked at the back of the menu.

"Just a glass of water," Mear told her, and then she turned to me.

"And you?"

"Just a glass of iced tea." She smiled, wrote all of it down and then disappeared to the back room.

I pushed the bangs that were in front of my eyes out of the way, for once showing all of my eyes for once, and relaxed as I looked at the small menu. They had many pastries and fruit selections. I probably would get something fruity or something that combined a pastry and a fruit together. Probably a peach or something...

The Gardevoir came back with the drinks and then smiled at the both of us, but uncertainly when she looked at me and my hand that was holding the menu. I noticed that there were a few gray splotches on my fingers, so I shook my sleeve a little forward to cover it, and it covered it completely all the way. I looked up and noticed Mear had already ordered and didn't even notice my problem.

"What will you be getting, dearie?" She directed herself to me with a better face on her.

"Just a doughnut with fruit on the side." She nodded and took our menus and quickly glided to the back.

I took a sip of the iced tea and looked at Mear, noticing his eyes were looking all over the place, taking in the place. I smiled a little when his eyes came upon me, and then I found myself darting his eyes and tracing a line on the table.

I didn't exactly know why I was avoiding his eyes, but I felt myself lightly blush and continued to trace the line on the table. It was so quiet... It was peaceful... for once.

I sighed a little happily and continued to trace the line on the table.
