“I’m not gonna lie. I was caught in it. But I’m not out of it.” We walked down the hall, back into the ballroom where many stared at us, sincerely surprised I wasn’t dead, but also concerned with the fact that my vest had gone and we both looked a bit damp (OH GOSH--The mind--it kills me! O//.//O)
But we walked past as if we were the only two on the dance floor. And when we stopped we both looked at each other in the same moment.
“Care to dance, sweet heart?”
“I would. Thank you.”
It was so strange to waltz as if we had done it for forever, dance as if nothing had happened a few minutes before. She was so beautiful I could barely stand it--how did mainlander woman become so much more beautiful than the tiny un-appreciated islands of the world? Why had she been hidden all my life?
I smiled at her and spun her. I’m so glad I found someone like her. She really was a wonderful… And dare I say sexy woman.
“Lupe….” I whispered her name, not really sure why I had.
“…Yes?”
“Lupe I think I need to make it up to you once and for all.”
Suddenly her face took on an enormous blush and she said a bit loudly, “Whoa no! Y-you don’t have to do anything! Really, dancing is fine!”
I huffed playfully. “No valentine of mine is going to have a good night just by dancing. Give me credit darling, I’m more creative than that~”
She looked worried as to what “creative” really meant to me in that moment.
“What are you talking about?” She said warily, almost afraid.
I stopped our waltz and, while holding her hand and putting one hand on her waist I kissed her forehead. “You’ll see. Wait for me on the chairs.”
And I was off. I was worried that I’d left her with uneasy thoughts (I wasn’t too sure about this myself) but it was elaborate enough to try.
My debt would be repaid!…. I hoped. O.o’’

“Can you do that, nekoboy?” I said to Nyrath, catching him just as he and Nina were taking a break for refreshments.
He looked uneasy. “I could work that out…Maybe…”
“Perfect!” I embraced him and almost burst out laughing at his cat-like reaction of his tail shivering in surprise. “This will make it better~!”

I stood at the head of the ballroom, where a slight indent made a kind-of stage. This is where I shine, Lupe darling~!
As soon as the slow dance had ended, I held the microphone to my lips and said, “Hey everyone~ I hope you all are having a fantastic time!” There was a small cheer and some laughs. “Well I know this is kind of off and all…” I felt the pink run into my cheeks. “But I’d like to dedicate this to my lovely lady of the night--Lupe!”
I saw her reaction--Utter and complete shock.
I blew her a kiss. “This one’s for you, sweetheart.”
I also saw Nekoboy chuckle, happy he’d been involved in this plan.
The music began and I felt my heart race. Shake it out, Chii, shake it out. It’s just like karaoke on the island. No sweat….
“Breath and I’ll carry you away~
Into the velvet sky… And we’ll stir the stars around.
And watch them fall away, into the Hudson Bay.
And plummet out of sight and sound…”
I watched her the entire time. Her expressions, trying to figure out what she was thinking. Everyone was watching me or dancing with their partners, but Lupe and I could only look at each other.
I winked as I sung the chorus, only for her.
“Late nights and early parades…
Still photos and noisy arcades…
Why, darling, we’re both on the wing,
Look down and keep on singing.
And we can go anywhere.”
I sung until the song had ended, putting the microphone away after saying, “Thank you, Lupe.”

I wondered what she’d say to that.

Haha I thought the lyrics were too good to be true (XD he says "darling", like twice XDXD)--it really does fit Lupe and Chii in the way that he knows he's been isolated a lot of his life and these new experiances are confusing him-- "Am I home--Or am I simply tumbling all alone?" He wonders if this new life is meant for him or is it too good to be true <3
