((Super-short post... sorry. Screw writer's block. D: ))
Melody felt her muscles relax for the first time that night as she embraced Hon. She sighed lightly, nuzzling her head into his shoulder. His touch was gentle and comfortable, and she felt warmth emanating from inside his body. So this is what it feels like to hug a fire-type Pokemon, then? she thought. It's nice. Sitting with Hon like this felt so incredibly natural, almost as natural as when Andreas hugged her.
"M-Melody? Are you alright?" Hon stuttered.
"Mm..." she hummed in response. Suddenly, however, her half-closed eyes snapped open fully as she realized that she had had her arms wrapped around him for nearly five minutes straight. She pulled back abruptly, blushing furiously. "Sorry," she said hurriedly, "I didn't mean to stay that way for so long. I guess I... lost track of time." She let out a nervous laugh. Hon's cheeks became lightly tinted with pink. He nodded barely, as if in understanding.
Silence enveloped the two. Melody picked at the bedsheets, absentmindedly removing foreign fibers from the blue-and-green-patterned fabric. However, her mind was not on her actions, but was instead filled with churning ideas and questions. She sneaked a sideways peek at Hon. His eyes darted around the room, apparently soaking in her bedroom decor. Melody bit her lip. She was burning to ask him something, something she had been wondering about since everyone's arrival at the gijinka mansion. Her petite fingers clutched the sheets. She fidgeted a bit more, trying to make a decision. Finally, she figured that now would be the best opportunity to ask him. Taking a deep breath, she faced him.
"Hon," she muttered. The Houndour in question jumped slightly and turned his attention to her.
"Huh?"
"I... I want to tell you something..."
"Go on. I'm listening." His alert expression and the curiosity dancing in his eyes gave Melody the courage to continue.
"I-" she stopped, unable to continue. She adverted her gaze to her dress and let out a shaky breath. Come on, don't stop now, she told herself. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. She blushed in embarrassment before trying again. "I l-... No," she whispered, "I think I... hold... hold feelings for you."
Hon blinked in confusion. "'Feelings'?" he inquired. "What do you mean by that?"
Melody froze up again. She squeezed her eyes shut. It had taken so much confidence to just say that aloud. How can I answer him now? she asked herself. Andreas' words suddenly echoed in her head. 'Let Melody do what makes Melody happiest.' The sentence seemed to pull an internal trigger within her, because the next moment, she found the words she had been trying to say all along flowing out of her mouth with incredible ease.
"You brighten my day. You make me feel free and loosen me up. You're kind and thoughtful," she stated, feeling a little bubbly inside when Hon blushed. After pausing, she continued, "When I say 'feelings', I mean feelings. I... like you. I might even love you.
"Now, I want to ask you something. What... am I to you?" She stared straight into his eyes, silently demanding an answer.
Continue?
Melody.

FINALLYYYYY!! I've finally gotten around to writing Melody's confession, however horribly written or short it is. DX
And on an unrelated note, Otomi-chan has given me permission to use Sheek, the Shinx that Melody has that connection to, in the story as a side character. ((Thanks again, dear leader! :'D ))
Anyway, I'm pretty much notifying you about this so you'll be prepared for when I DO use her, which won't be for a while...
Heck, she may end up replacing Luis... don't bet on it, though.
Uhh... That's it. :/
