Evolution in the Sad Shadows

Shupple

“It... was... really... nice....” I smiled, tilting my head with a blush brighter than a piece of red ribbon. The necklace was beautiful... but I felt like I was talking about this kiss Mear had just given me on the forehead. It really was nice...

It took me a few seconds to realize that everybody was missing from the ballroom and heading upstairs to go to bed. We were technically the only ones standing in the ballroom.

“I… think we should be heading to bed,” Mear smiled a bit. “It is starting to get really late.” Mear looked at me and then his face suddenly becoming red like mine. I felt embarrassed so much... but so happy at the same time... It was a different and weird feeling. Mear gave a nervous laugh and shoved his hands into his pockets. I felt my own chuckle rising through my throat.

“.... Ya....” I agreed after a moment of my own little chuckle. “We... really do need sleep.... I guess....” Even though that wasn't really true for ghost Pokemon, I felt more tired than I ever had before, now just realizing this.

That kiss was still stunning my mind as we headed upstairs and stopped at the second floor. We were about to head to our separate to our own rooms when Mear spoke up, and I looked directly at him in the eyes.

“If... if you ever need anything, Shupple,” Mear started. “I’ll be here....” I felt myself blush as Mear gave me a slight smile and I returned the favor.

We then headed off to our own rooms, even though in a small part in the back of my head said for me to stay with me, even though I kind of knew that to be impossible since we slept in different rooms.

Getting to my room, I closed the door and locked it, quickly taking off my dress and jewelry, except Mear's necklace, and going into my silver pajamas. I flopped down onto my bed and fell asleep almost immediately. I felt myself slowly changing though inside myself, a tug in my stomach.

I woke up to the sound of screaming down the hallway. I slowly rose, my back hurting with my forehead at the same time. I felt my heartbeat pulse faster as I thought about Mear kissing me on the forehead. For some reason, I felt almost completely restored of energy, and as I finally got up to my sitting position, I rubbed my eyes, but noticed something was different about them. I was wearing different black fingerless gloves. That's weird... I don't remember putting these on.

I then looked down at my whole outfit and noticed it was changed. It was all black, the dress included. No wait, it was a skirt, just looking ripped up sort of. It ended just a little bit above my knees and a cut in the dress going up all the way on my right thigh ending just above my hips.

I looked at my blouse next and noticed it was somewhat like a tank top combined with a dress top. I had sleeves but they only went to the wrist and it was attached to a strap that was attached to the strap of the tank top that was twisted around my neck. It was cut off at my chest, having a little cut in the middle of it, but not that big, thank God. It ended right above my belly button. I then touched my neck, feeling something on it.

There was Mear's necklace that he had given me, but also some type of choker that had three beads attached to it. I touched then my hair and felt it was the same but when I looked down at my feet afterwards, I noticed I had motorcycle boots that only girls wear, and I had to admit they were pretty cool.

Looking on my bed, I noticed a gray and black jacket was on it so I slid it on and realized it was thin but it looked thick enough to be a winter jacket. I could button it up if I had wanted to but right now, I didn't really want to. The sleeves were black, and at the top of the jacket, it was gray, but slowly turned into black at the bottom of my jacket.

Standing up, stumbling a little because I wasn't use to walking in shoes a lot, especially after tonight at the ball with the issue of high heels, I walked over to my mirror. Looking in the mirror, I noticed a design on the back of my jacket. Something that looked like a yellow tail or a bell or something. I then I noticed my eyes were red and black slits in the middle of my eyes. Oh, crap. I evolved. Joy, joy.

I stared at my eyes for a while until I finally looked back at my jacket, and realized what the little symbol meant on the back of my jacket. I was a Banette. Realizing what should be on my mouth, I looked immediately at it. My teeth were gold colored and I had this piercing in my lip that looked like a huge zipper. I pulled on it a little and hurt like bees stinging you multiple times.

I then flipped my hood over my head and realized I fitted a Banette Gijinka perfectly. Gold teeth with a zipper attached to the mouth, ripped clothing, and a hood that made it look like I had horns and sharp teeth that made look like I had fangs. Sharp nails and ripped sleeves that went past my arms at the end that looked like I had shredded them up. The zipper on my jacket was gold colored and looked like it could attach to my mouth zipper, and gray skin that made me look I look pale all the time. Wow.

I sighed, the mouth zipper moving a little. Great. I wonder what Mear was going to say when he saw me...

Then the thought came to me. What was that scream I had heard before? Maybe I should go and check it out...

Walking over to my door and exiting it, I almost retreated back into my room. What if Mear saw me like this? What would he think? ... Why am I thinking this? I shook my head in confusion and felt myself blush bright red as I exited my room.

Finding myself in the main room, I found Gray there, muttering to himself while leaning against a wall. I making a sound against the wood floor made him look and smile wide.

"How is it that you wake up and all the other girls don't in the house from all the screams that are going on?" He chuckled as he walked over to me and bent down to my level. Great. I'm still short.

He pulled on my mouth zipper a little and I winced, grabbing it back.

"So you did evolve into a Banette.... Finally."

Gray

Hearing all the screams made me wake up. I had already gone to bed after having a small chat with that Haunter and then heading upstairs at the end of the ball. I was still in my pj's as I exited my room. I looked around and noticed Mear going off somewhere with Lux, trying to find out what happened as soon as I went downstairs. I sighed. It was probably someone just being scared...

Going over to the main room, I leaned against one wall and noticed all the shadows were shifting on the wall, like something bad actually was happening, kind of like Rotom was in the building, but I didn't sense him. Something else must be inhabiting this house...

Well, it seemed like some horror was going to be going on now... That made me smile. Horror was cool, especially for some of the Ghost Pokemon who enjoy it. I absolutely did, but not if it was my friends being tortured. Well, maybe I should check it out myself...

I then realized how quiet it was in the house. How was it possible that all the girls were all staying asleep when all of this drama was happening?

I looked at the wall and saw a shadow staring at me. Well, I think it was staring at me... I began whispering some words to it, and it turned out it was a sad shadow that was scared of something in the house. So something was inhabiting this house... Something absolutely terrifying that it even made Ghost Pokemon scared. God, that thing must be scary if something was scaring the Ghost Pokemon to almost death....

Hearing footsteps heading down the hallway from the girl's side of the house, the shadow disappeared and I looked down the hall. It was Shupple, I think... But I didn't recognize her. Wait a second...! I smiled widely.

"How is it that you wake up and all the other girls don't in the house from all the screams that are going on?" I chuckled as Shupple came down the hallway and stopped and I walked over to her, bending down to her level. Seemingly, she didn't like that. Must suck to be short.

I grabbed her zipper mouth and she winced and grabbed it so that I wouldn't pull on it anymore. So she really did...

"So you did evolve into a Banette.... Finally," I stated, smiling my wide smile and Shupple just rolled her eyes.

"So, are you going to keep your name?" I asked her as kind as I could but apparently she took it the wrong way.

"Yeah, duh, dumdum," Shupple spat as I looked at her neck and noticed something new on her neck.

"Is that from Mear?" I playfully asked as I picked it up and she slapped my hand away and blushed bright red.

"None of your business," she muttered as she looked away blushing brighter than a tulip.

"So he did give it to you!" I exclaimed and she punched me in the shoulder, which hurt a little. I laughed and rubbed it as I stood up fully, looking down at her.

"Want to see what's going on with the screams and everything?" Shupple suddenly asked and I smiled in response.

"Sure, sure. Just as long as you tell me what happened at the Ball," I laughed and she shook her head like a doll.

I shrugged.

"Fine," I told her as I skipped along into the hallway, Shupple following solemnly.

Shadows were such sad things.... Especially if they were bad, big, and powerful...
