Where, oh where has my little Kat gone?

~Sable

I ran with the poochyena girl behind me. I believe her name was Poochy. Hopefully, Kat was behind her. The thing was, Kat always moved so softly, that the only thing I could go by was a faint rustling of her pajamas and a soft "tmph" of her padded step. We ran frantically looking for a way out when I realized something.

I couldn't hear Kat anymore! I stopped immediately, and was almost knocked over by Poochy. "Where's Kat?" I asked softly. There was silence. "DAMMIT WHERE IS SHE?!" I screamed frantically. Not caring if Poochy was following or not, I ran back the way we came.

"Kat! KAT?!" I called. A small voice stopped me cold. It was of a little girl, singing a song.

"Where, oh where had my little Kat gone,
Where, oh where could she be?
With her hair so short and her tail so long,
Oh where, oh where could she be?

I followed the sound. In the middle of the hallway, a girl gave a small light. She was wearing an old-fashion dress, but it was covered in blood. She was playing with some doll. It was obvious she was a ghost to me.

As I came closer, she looked up at me. "Oh, are you looking for someone too?"

"Yeah," I said cautiously. "My friend, Ka-" I stopped dead. The girl was holding up her toy. It was an exact copy of Kat in her gown dress. The details were scary. "Oh my..."

"Want to meet my new friend?" she giggled. I blew my top.

"What have you done to her?! What are you going to do with her?!"

"I'm so tired of questions," the girl huffed. "Everybody keeps asking questions!"

"Give her to me!" I demanded. The girl became angrier.

"No! She's my new friend, and she's staying with me forever!"

"Look, I'll give you a new toy!" I pleaded. Her face grew a mischeivious smile. She floated to the top of the rather tall halleway, and held Kat out on the other side of her. I saw Kat change from fabric to porcelain.

"I'll drop her."

I was trying to scream to Sable. Of course, she couldn't hear me. I looked down, pass the illusion, to the ground far below. In reality, I was still a rag doll, and this was the end of the hallway. The ghost had phased me through a window.

"If you can catch her, you can have her." she said. I really hoped Sable would see through it...

But she didn't.

The illusion showed her dropping the doll. Sable leapped forward... Out the window with a crash. I was forced to look as she desperately groped a ledge. The girl drew me back into her and we looked down at Sable.

"I would never do that to my new friend! Now, you might want to treat that broken leg." Sable looked confused. Her eyes widened as the ledge broke off, and she fell to the ground. A sickening crack followed. The ghost took me and skipped away happily, another person down.

That took a while... I started writing this last night, and had to finish after church. Soz it's so long.
