What now?

~Gale~

I tossed and turned until I finally felt the ground under me with a hoof. I blinked at the sudden light flashing into my eyes. I blinked a few times until finally turning around. A black portal disappeared as Ivax and I both sighed.

‘That was close…’

I nodded in agreement. This “ghost” was good. I almost completely forgot about those feelings inside of me. I glanced around, a grassy field with a large tree.

“I wonder where everyone is…” I sighed. They must be going through the same hell I was.

‘What do we do now, hero?’ Ivax sarcastically asked.

“Let’s have a look around, we’re probably still in… where ever we are.” I answered.

Ivax wiggled back and forth. ‘Man, let’s just get out of here, if you could survive your worst nightmare, so can they! Let’s go!’

“I would’ve died if you weren’t there!” I argued. “If you weren’t, I would probably be dead by now!”

‘Yeah, but!’ I cut him off mid sentence.

“No buts! Everyone needs someone to tell them that this is all just an illusion!” I growled.

Ivax rolled his eyes, ‘Here we go again!’

I relaxed my shoulders, there was no point at getting in a fight with Ivax at this moment. I knew he was just trying to protect us, but I couldn’t bring myself to just sit by and watch this happen to others. Besides, I could still feel the tenseness I got from the earthquake; probably just making both of us a little more on edge. “Come on, there has to be someone nearby, I can feel it.”

‘right, right, but I still think-’
Suddenly we both froze. My ears carefully listened as vigorous splashing could be heard just behind us.

Ivax squinted his eyes together before letting them widen. ‘What the Hell is that!?’ Ivax called out, his voice seemed frightened.
I quickly spun around to see some sort of dark creature standing a bit down the hill near a pond. I saw there was another shadow thing in the water with a… a Gijinka!?

"WHY!?!?" I heard him yell in horror just before being driven back down into the water.

I acted immediately. My legs jolted me into action as I charged to the pond. The one shadow twisted their head right as I got over to them.

“Psychic!” I roared, focusing my mind on that one object.
It shrieked out as it disappeared. I bent down at the pond, looking down.

“Where is he?!” I swished my head back and forth.

‘Like, I don’t know… Under the water!!!’ Ivax sarcastically answered me. I took a deep breath, then dove into the water. I quickly swam deeper, but I couldn’t see.

‘See anything?’ My mind passed to Ivax.

Ivax twisted around my body a bit before nodding.

‘They’re pinned over there.’ He informed.

I followed his directions further, further into the darkness.
‘How the hell could a pond be so damn deep!’ Ivax growled.
I had no time to answer, as I let Ivax glow a steel color. I swung him hard into the darkness. It disappeared like the other did as I grabbed onto the other Gijinka. They quickly started to wriggle against me, I grabbed his arm firmly and touched my hooves on the rocks. I used as much strength as possible to propel the two of us from the deep.

Both of us surfaced, gasping for air.

‘Don’t forget about me down here!’ I could hear Ivax bark at me. I quickly abided and crawled back onto the surface. The other Gijinka had already done so. We both sat on the small pond bay for a moment, trying to gather all of our oxygen back.

I finally tried to talk. “Are you okay?”

I saw him nod, still coughing up water. I sighed resting my eyes. Wow, that earthquake did take more out of me then I thought.

“That’s good …” My head nodded up and down.
