Ever since the ball I haven’t seen her smile once--it’s tarring me up from the inside out. I ran after Lupe in an attempt to help her, but I stopped myself as I heard her cry… And suddenly, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I was so confused, I needed to think. What was I supposed to do?! I’d already meddled so much in her life I felt like I was prying into something too private for me to be put into. I didn’t even know what had scared her! She looked so terrified… It nearly broke my heart.
I’d have to get advice for this, I couldn’t do this on my own without sounding like a stupid fool to her.
I ran back, ready to ask for advice I needed desperately. “Lux! Hey can I ask you…?”
EVERYONE, even Sparky and Lux were gone now, just like that! There was a short silence in which I twitched and thought, The heck did everyone go--and how did I NOT notice?!
Instantly I rolled up my yoga mat and right as I was about to pull my shirt back on, I heard a scream from the forest. “"I WILL GET REVENGE FOR HER AND DEFEAT YOU!"
…Hon? I couldn’t really tell. The guy was just part of the dream I had, right? He wasn’t really real….
“--DON”T GET COCKY!!” I heard the last of that sentence tare through my thought.
Lux! I knew that voice. What the heck was he doing? Even if Hon WAS real and not just part of my dream why would they be screaming at each other?
I finally pulled on my shirt and fixed the collar, about to run and help when a feeling came over me. It was so strong I nearly fell into the lake as I clutched my chest. What-- Then I knew. I wasn’t supposed to help Lux, I wasn’t ready to help Lupe--I didn’t know what to say!! Lux could fend for himself. It was none of my business, on either of their stories. Then… What do I do?!
Unable to make out the feeling, I dropped the mat, pulled my goggles over my eyes and dove into the lake. Augh…. I need to think. I need to think. The bottom of a body of water was the only place I had to myself. But what is this feeling?! I let myself float to the bottom, clutching at my chest. I could stay under for a good half hour without loosing air, but that didn’t matter to me at the moment. All I felt was this feeling.
…Then I saw him.
I opened my eyes and a pair were staring straight back at me. Bubbles erupted from my mouth and I tried to back off, but he grabbed my shirt and pulled me to him, so close my nose nearly touched his.
“Hey, Chii.” He hissed, garbling his words so they were audible beneath the water. “Nice place your living in, Hm?”
I struggled to get away. “Shay--!” I couldn’t believe it--he found me!
“I knew you didn’t drown, me and the gang found your body on the shore though and thought you’d died from the storm.” He grinned. “Just like Mommy and Daddy, eh?”
I stopped struggling and immediately my blood boiled in my veins. “Don’t you EVER talk about them like that!”
He shrugged, then changed the subject. “Tell me…. You know a girl named Poochy?”
The name rang a bell. I’d met her before…. “Why?”
“I’ve known she’s been here for a while. I bet she still misses me, eh? HAHAHA!” He threw back his head and laughed, bubbles momentarily flooding the small area.
I glared. “You know her?”
He smiled. “Of course I do. She was my everything back in the day.”
“You left her.” The anger boiled to my very being. I knew how that felt. To be left alone and fend for yourself when the person who ran away was something you cared about. “No one deserves that, you sick--”
He laughed again, “Doesn’t matter. I didn’t come here for her, bud--Came here for you. That little cherubi friend of your was awful friendly about telling me where you were. The storm was coming and I knew it was the perfect time to get you back… And he led me right to you. Trapped in the water.”
Cheruu… Augh, what was WRONG with me. I swore I started to feel angry tears swell inside me, but I was grateful I was under water and had my goggles on. Shay would never see me cry as long as I lived.
But… Nevertheless it was hard to hear. Cheruu was the one I could always count on, the one who kept me safe when I was being stupid or reckless, the one with great advice on the things I was too naïve to think of… And then to hear he sold me out…
“Anyway, just thought I’d give you a heads-up.” He winked. “There’s a festival going on soon. I overheard some of your Gijinka buds talking about going.” For a moment, he was even closer than before and I held in my breath. “I’ll be there. I’ll finally finish what I started.”
Shay’s dark blue form sped away from me then, as if he had never been there, calling out, “I’ll see you then, Chii!”
I was completely quiet and still for a good minute before I began to scream, bubbles rising to the surface in angry torrents. I HATED HIM! HIM AND CHERUU AND EVERYONE WHO HAS EVER LEFT SOMEONE THEY LOVED!!! I couldn’t contain my anger, a feeling so strong I began to feel my air supply dry out and I swiftly shot up to the surface. I broke the water line, jumping up about a foot into the air when I heard a surprised scream and a yelp.
Falling back to the water, I bobed to the surface with only my face showing and looked to where I’d heard the scream. There on the shore where I had been doing yoga were Mear and Shupple, two Gijinka I remember from the dance.
Shupple looked as if I’d shot her and Mear grasped his sketchbook for dear life. They must have not of known I’d been under there O^O’’ ….
Ignoring the pain and worry in my heart, I shouted to them, “Holy Ho-Oh, I’m SO sorry I did that! I had NO idea you two were there!” I swam to them and lifted myself to the shore. I shook out the water in my hair and put my goggles back to my head before I continued, “Please forgive me, I didn’t mean it!”
I waved my hands in exasperation, but then stood and ran to Lupe once again. I knew what to do. If I really hated everyone who had ever left someone they loved…
Then I would never leave Lupe again.

LOL Everyone left Chii to do yoga XD! And when I read that Shupple and Mear were at the lake, I couldn’t resist XD!!
But OH NOES! Shay is back and ready to get his revenge on Chii---Will Poochy ever find out that Shay will be at the festival?!?
