It was quiet between the two of us… GAH! Ivax always had to do things like this. He just HAD to create awkward moments.
‘Don’t blame me if the girl took that wrong! I need to BREATHE, man!’ Ivax growled towards my thoughts. I rubbed the back of my neck, trying to think of a way to change subject as Lupe whistled to herself. Finally, it seemed to end as she spoke up.
“So….are you here to stay?”
I looked to her ,questionable, “Stay?” She gave a simple nod.
“Yeah, you came here looking for a home, ne?”
I gave a light gulp, yeah, we wanted a place to stay, but, I wasn’t sure if we would be accepted… so…so kindly… Before I really knew what to say, I answered her.
“Ummm… I don’t know about that.” Before Ivax could even get a thought through to me, Lupe smiled, widely.
“Well that’s too damn bad for you isn’t it? Because you’re staying!”
I looked at her then sighed.
‘You got him beat, girly!’ He sent a wink her way.
‘Should we, Ivax?’ I gingerly looked at him, sending a thought via brain wave.
‘DUH!’ he rashly replied.
I looked back at her. “Well….if you say so.” I couldn’t stop myself from sounding unsure… I hadn’t had a welcoming home in awhile.
“Very well then, let’s find you a room.” She grabbed my hand and began to lead the way through the hall.
I starred at the back of her head and smiled. It was nice to meet such a headstrong and confident person. I had to try harder, to be surer of myself.
I almost forgot! “Oh and Lupe?”
“Hmmm?”
“Sorry about your Cinnamon bun.”
I noticed a tear run down her eye, seeming to remember the pastry,“ It’s okay… a life for a life, ya know?”
I gave a cheerful smile and bowed. “Thank you.”
The twists and turns of the halls were a maze all right, a master maze; I had never been in a place so big, now that I thought about it. As she led me to my room, she gave an almost full tour.
I got a little confused as we continued around, “Wow, it’s amazing that you can remember where everything is…” I gaped, looking down another hallway as we passed it by.
“Jeeze, I don’t think anyone knows where the hell everything is!” she laughed. I gave a quizzical smile and shook my head.
‘Where is it already!? I’m getting T-I-R-E-D!’ Ivax scoffed.
“Are we almost there?” I asked, trying to help my companion’s mental health. Besides, if I heard him complain one more time, I might end up getting odd looks from people as I strangled him.
Lupe glanced back before looking back forward to climb the stairs. “Yeah, almost.”
When were climbing the stairs, a sudden jolt of someone’s yell unnerved us both.
"IM SORRY IM SORRY IM SORRY!!! I DIDNT MEAN TO SEE! TH..THE DOOR WAS OPEN!!! I...I” Just as we both got to the top, the girl ran away in the opposite direction and disappeared. We both blinked until a door slamming was heard, snapping us out of it.
“Okay, so yur' room will be right here!” Lupe suddenly changed subject as if nothing just happened.
“Huh? Oh, um, okay.” I smiled with a nervous laugh.
I opened the door and gazed inside, a room… and no one else was in it. “Wait, is this whole thing mine?” I turned to her.
“Uh… duh, we’re in a mansion yah dope! We have plenty of rooms!” She smacked the top of my head. I nervously laughed as I held my head. Lupe grinned and let out a laugh as well.
“Alright, I got a lot to do, soooo, I’ll be going now.” She turned and started out the door.
“Oh, wait!” I called after her. She turned.
“What?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.
I gave a calm smile, “Thanks, Lupe, this means a lot to me…”
She gave a nod and a smile, “Yeah! You better appreciate it!” she laughed. I watched her leave as I closed the door.
‘Yikes! Did you see the CURVES on that girl!?’ Ivax immediately merged back into a pervert.
My face became blistered red, “Ah! Ivax! Don’t speak so disrespectivly of her!” I growled.
‘Hehe… sure, but you have to admit, she completely made you forget about getting food for Badrak and the bear…’ he snickered. My head snapped up.
“ah…damn…” I sighed, shaking my head.
How could I forget that…?
