I glanced around the slightly barren room, wondering to myself. I had never had a whole room to myself!
*O.O*
‘Wowza- Have you looked out the window?’ Ivax chattered, straining to see outside.
Curiously, I tiptoed over as if I might break the floor in the room. We both peeked out the window to see the forest and side of the house below. In unison, we both gave a large “wow…”
I stood up again and turned to see the whole room. “This place is… amazing.” I gaped once again.
‘Yur’ telling me!’ he agreed.
I once again carefully moved across the wooden floor planks only to find myself a few feet away at the bed. Ivax glanced to me and all I could do was give a shrug before taking a seat.
It was soft, and the single pillow was plushy. I gave a large smile as I plopped to my side, lying on the bed.
“Ivax, it’s so nice…” I whispered, letting my eye lids close.
He hovered up over my hip nodding to himself, “Yeah, it’s okay.” He answered gruffly.
It remained silent like this for a few moments… it was peaceful, and I almost forgot about how many other people there were in the house. I re-opened my eyes, blinking once or twice before noticing the other door across from us.
“What do you think?”
“Closet.” Ivax chirped back.
Before we could really debate, I got too excited and raced to the door to see. (Yes they’re acting like little kids that just got a tree house XD!)
The door swung open, I wasn’t sure what Ivax’s expression was, by let out a large grin.
“WE HAVE OUR OWN BATHEROOM!!!” the holler flung from my mouth before I could think.
‘AND IT HAS A SHOWER!!! NO MORE DROWNING IN WATER!!!!’ Ivax loudly howled.
I glanced around the nice bathroom, thank Ho-oh for helping us find THIS place! I smiled, the next time I saw Lupe, I HAD to thank her again! *X)*
I Just as I was about to leave to go check out the rest of the room, I noticed myself from the mirror.
‘Eh? What’s up, Gale?’ the chatterbox wondered.
“Maybe we should clean ourselves up before we get going?”
Ivax raised a brow, but sighed with a nod. ‘Yeah, yeah, fine, fine.’
Ariel-
The sun was already beating down on the crude tent set up. You HAD to
be kidding me. WE JUST GOT HERE GOSH DARN-IT!!!
Stupid sun, always making everything hot, it wasn’t like the sun was in the middle of the sky. I sat there with my legs crossed and my hands firmly around my ankles. My tail grabbed another Nanab berry from the bowl behind me and brought it to my mouth.
I lazily munched on the berry until I was done and had my tail reach back for another, only to find the darn bowl empty. I glanced back, seeing that my tail wasn’t becoming numb from the heat, but that the bowl was, indeed, empty. I huffed out a breath of air before standing, my tail grabbing the bowl. Just as I was leaving from the tent to find a berry bush, SHE called.
“ARIEL!!!!”
My ears flung up in surprise and I could swear I felt the hairs on my neck jump.
“WHAT!?” I called back a bit annoyingly, just to piss her off.
“Get ju’ little munkey butt ova’ here, NOW!” She ordered once again in her thick, Jamaican accent. I gave a hefty roll to my eyes before tossing the bowl back into the tent, and leisurely walking the direction of the stalls.
“Meh, what is it, Kara?” I asked, clearing the buzzing noise from my ear with one finger.
She flew around, her eyes wide. Uh, oh, she had all her voodoo paint on again. I let out a cough, covering my smile before she let quite the scary glare wisp from her eyes. I couldn’t take her seriously in that paint.
“What’d ju’ thinks is funny?” She asked, raising her brow with her voice.
I pushed up my glasses and looked up, removing my smile.
“Nothing, Kara.” She squinted before pointing to the sun.
“Do ju’ see thet sun? It means we’ve’s haven’t much time before we start de’ magic.”
I nodded, slowly, rolling both lips back into my mouth. “Fine…” I answered her.
“Good, now, go. Help Ma’ sisters with the front stoal.”
“Oooookkkaaaayyy…” I elongated, turning little by little.
I ran off to the festival grounds only to stop and gawk at a teriyaki stall. Taking in a LONG whiff, I sighed. I gave a smile, as the gears in my head started working. I licked my lips, glancing around, and then ran off behind another stall.
The cook whistled to himself, preparing some food for later that night at the festival. As he worked, I climbed up on top of the stall and balanced to the window behind him where there was a bag of coal. He was probably using it for the burner. The thought quickly passed as I reached my tail in through the window and grasped just a small piece. I thought for a moment, my ears listening very carefully to his whistle, I wanted to be sure to get his attention after all. I smiled to myself before flinging the rock at the man’s back. My tail flew up, and I quickly moved to the opposite side of the roof.
“Yeoch!” He swiftly turned around.
He glanced from side to side, but noticed nothing until he saw the small coal on the ground. He picked it up and glanced around again, but still saw nothing. When he turned back around, I was already gone with my prize.
“WHAT THE!?!?!?!?”
I snickered to myself, happily eating one of the Teriyaki Shish kabobs.
“What a sucker!” I snickered to myself. “I didn’t even have to THINK how to trick that guy!”
“What guy, Ariel-Kun?”
I spit a light piece of meat from my mouth and turned. “Oh, it’s just you, Yuuki.” I let out a sigh.
Yuuki was a nice girl that started traveling in the gypsy cart about a year ago; she was like a younger sister to me, only older and taller.
“Are you going to help us with the set up?”
I gave a nod and a smile, “Yeah, Kara sent me to ‘help out.’”
“Okay, come on, then!” She smiled, walking past me.”Oh, ah, Ariel-kun?”
“Mrph?” I swallowed down my next bite. “What is it?”
“I thought Kara-sama took away your allowance?”
We both stopped dead in our tracks, both slightly blinking from time to time before I started laughing.
“Yeah, she did!”
“So, how did you buy them?”
“Haha! You silly girl! I who said anything about BUYING them!” Before another word could be uttered, she bonked my head.
“BAKA! What do you mean you STOLE them!? When are you going to stop being a theif!?”
“Yeow! That hurt!” I complained.
Yuuki sighed, shaking her head, “Come on, you could’ve ASKED for one, Ariel-kun.”
“Meh, he was human, he probably would’ve been freaked out.” I grumbled.
She glared daggers, “I’M human and I think you look NORMAL!”
I shrugged, making a face off into random space, “Yeah, sure, but YOU have been around Gijinkas MOST of your LIFE.”
Before she could answer, another one of the gypsies hollered out. “Hey, you two, come help out!”
“Just don’t do it again!” She sent me a side glance before yelling that she was coming and dashing off. I smirked and shook my head.
“Ah well, it’s not like he’ll miss two shish-kabobs.” I quickly downed the second one before running off to the main stall.
