I thought deeply about whether or not he'd actually be in a place like this... But she knows him better than I do... I still can't believe I came all this way... I waited for the Staraptor to answer my question.
"An Absol?" she finally said after rubbing her head, "Hm... I don't think so..." I started to get discouraged when she suddenly spoke up again, "Oh wait! I think I saw someone like that at a meeting last night..."
"R-really?" I responded. Even though I really had no idea what I would do once I found him, I was one step closer to completing my mission. "D-do..." I fidgeted. I'm not so used to talkign so much, but I'm glad that at least I found a girl to tell me, "do you know where he is, now...?"
She looked at me for a moment. She had something on her mind and seemed like she was still a bit shaken from whatever caused her to be injured.
"I'm sorry," she finally said, "I didn't see much of him to begin with..."
"I see... Thank you for your time," I bowed slightly.
"Oh no... I should thank you for healing me. Thanks, um... What's your name again...?"
"R-Raine..."
"Raine? Thank you Raine. I'm Star, by the way. I'm actually somewhat new here myself. But I can fly above the mansion and see if I find him. As repayment for your help"
"A-Are you sure...? You sh-should rest..."
"I'm fine. You did a good job. In the meantime, why not go inside the mansion? I think some strange stuff has been going on, and it's safer in there. I'll come find you if I find him or not."
"Th-thank you..." I bowed again. The Staraptor waved, then spread her wings and took flight. I was her as she disappeared behind the roof, then carefully walked toward the door. My tail got snagged on a stick in the ground, "K-kyaa!" I yelped. Then I sighed. It was difficult having a tail. I wasn't sure why I had a tail in the first place, when all the other Ralts in my hometown had none. I was always teased and it got in the way a lot. Boys even hassled me in ways I would like to forget... I whimpered and realized I was in front of a door. As I went to knock on it, it opened on its own. Even though she said it was safe, I was still wary of inanimate objects moving on their own...
I took a deep breath and pushed the door open even more. It looked like someone hadn't closed it all the way. I was never this adventerous back home... I really hope there aren't any bad men here who will kill me... I gulped and entered the building. It looked to be a very large space that could hold many residents. I kept wandering trying to see if I could find a place to sit down and wait. Eventually, I found a couch that looked comfortable. However, when I walked around to the other side, I saw two tall men sleeping there.
"A... Ah...!" I covered my mouth because I didn't want to wake them. What if they're not nice? What if they try to do bad things to me? What if they try to kill me?! I tried to back away, but my tail got in the way and I tripped over it.
"K-K-KYAA!" I screamed. Thud! I hit my forehead on the floor. I heard stirring behind me on the couch. Oh no...! I woke them! Now they're going to hurt me! I started crying and holding my head. I covered myself with my tail so thay wouldn't see me.
"Hey Lux, did you scream in your sleep?" one of the men said.
"NO! That was obviously a female scream... I have a much manlier scream than that..." the man who I guessed was Lux said.
"So you mean to tell me you do scream in your sleep, but you do it in a manly way?"
"That right... Wait, no!" Lux screamed.
"Oh, that was manly after all..." the first man clapped.
"Huh?" the conversation paused as Lux said that. "What's that fluffy thing right there...?"
Oh no! I felt something nudge me and I squealed.
"Holy crap, Gil!! It squealed!" Lux said.
I backed away slighly and both of them seeme to be surprised I was moving. If I keep hiding, they might get more mad... or think I'm a pest that needs exterminating... Slowly, I moved my tail from in front of me and raised my head. There were tears in my eyes.
"Oh, it's a very adorable girl," the man who was called Gil said.
"That's good, I thought I was going to have to get a broom..."
I squealed again and felt more tears well up. I looked at them and the second man, Lux, knelt closer to me.
"H-hey! I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. Are you okay? What's your name?"
I suddenly had a flashback to that terrible time. N-No! He's too close! "AHHHHHH!" I screamed and hid my head under my hands. He jumped back when I did that. I could feel my body shake and the tears flwoing freely now. "D-Don't kill me! I'll be good! I swear!! Don't do bad things, please" I continued to cry.
The two men looked at each other. Are they plotting how to get rid of me...? As I was lying there curled up, I heard someone shouting and coming toward us.
"HEY! WHAT DO YOU TWO A$$WIPES THINK YOU'RE DOING?! YOU GUYS LIKE TO GANG UP ON INNOCENT GIRLS FOR FUN?! THIS IS WHY I DON'T LIKE YOU LUX!!"
I looked up slightly to see a Lopunny girl yelling at the Luxray man. She seemed scarier than the men, but she came to protect me from them.
"I wasn't doing any such thing!" the Luxray yelled.
"I really wish you wouldn't accuse me of things like that... I was just trying to get some rest..." The Glaceon said.
Both the Lopunny and Lux argued and eventually, the Luxray got tired and walked off somewhere else. The Lopunny stared after him with an angry look on her face. Then she turned to me. I shrank back a little. She looked like she wanted to kill me too, but she wouldn't do that, she's female... right?
"You..." she began to speak, "are you alright?"
She seemed like she was concerned about me. I looked warily at the Glaceon standing nearby and wouldn't answer. The Lopunny seemed to notice because she asked him to leave so she could talk to me. He seemed slightly irritated to have to move from his "resting spot," but shrugged and turned to me.
"I'm sorry if we've scared you. My name is Gil, by the way. You may not like me, but I promise I'm not a bad person. I won't do anything to make you uncomfortable, so I'll just leave for now. I hope you feel better, Miss Ralts."
With that, he left. I looked up up at the Lopunny who sat down on the couch and harshly patted the cushion next to her. Reluctantly, I got up and sat down on the couch as far as possible, in case she wasn't going to be nice.
"Now, can you tell me your name?"
My voice got caught in my throat for a moment before I answered, "It's R-Raine..."

Sorry, I somewhat made Lux look a little foolish here XD Lol Let's just think of it as slight payback for the yaoi moment earlier XD Also, I know Lupe isn't too good with Raine's type, so I didn't have her say to much to Raine just yet. I'll leave the rest to each of you =3 ~*~
