Shupple
"Oh yeah Shupple, I wanted to meditate with you since I received your letter. I am under....well a lot of stress lately..." So the meditation? But why would Lux be under stress? Sure, there was Xio, Lupe, Hoom, and the whole house mess, but why would Lux be stressed? Something did seem to be wrong though...
"Stress?" I asked. "What do you mean? I understand the house has been a bit destroyed, but that isn't anything we can't fix as a team," I told Lux and he seemed a little nervous about what he was thinking. I was a little confused about the matter at hand now.
"No, that's not it." He hesitated. "It's just..." He wasn't able to speak. I knew something was troubling him, and I wouldn't mind listening. I was willing to listen to what he had to say and whatever problems he had. I could just tell he was hiding many things within him that he needed to get out.
"Well whatever it is that is causing your mind to be restless. I am sure I can help you." I smiled and Lux looked up at me but I could tell something was different about him now. He was looking at first at my face and then at my neck, and when he realized this, he blushed a bit. I understood. I wouldn't mind either.
"Argh...cough cough..." Lux curled up into a ball and held his body to him. "No, I won't no..." Lux whispered and I scooted over to him and put a hand on his shoulder and he looked up at me.
"It's okay Lux. Please go ahead." I moved my hair and showed him my neck. I knew he needed to and I really wouldn't mind at all. He had done it once to me already, and he didn't bother me like Xio did.
"I can't...not again....I won't hurt you Shupple," Lux whimpered and I had a feeling he was thinking he was pathetic. I could understand where he was coming from, actually.
"No Lux, you're just the opposite. You helped heal me before. At least, whatever it is eating at you let me help right now," I said softly with gentle eyes. I wanted him to know that it was okay, but I knew he would try to protest again.
"Why? This won't help my problems...I...I can't." I put a finger under his chin and tilted it up towards my neck. I honestly didn't mind. To help Lux, it was like... helping one of my old friends. "No I won't...I won't do it."
"Please....if it will help. Just don't over do it." I was serious and he knew it. I wasn't going to take no for an answer. Lux needed to do this, and I knew he knew that both of knew that this was true.
"Fine..." Lux whispered as he gently put his fangs back into my neck like once before and drank, I not feeling that weak. I didn't struggle like I did before and kept my breaths even and soon, I realized that, in a way, it was the best time to get some of the darkness or whatever it was out of Lux.
"Trust me on this," I told Lux quietly as I put my palms on one side of his head near his temple and the other on his neck. Lux closed his eyes as I concentrated on the dark energy surrounding his body and inside him so that I could relax him before I took some of the dark whatever out of him.
I slowly brought out some of the darkness in him and I could tell it was strong, but I was able to take it out anyways and seep it into my own darkness. I could tell as I was draining some of the darkness from him that something was in his system that possibly made him act like this.
At some point, Lux had his full and took out his fangs but we both jumped at the sound of a scream just when we had gotten relaxed.
"What the heck was that?” Lux exclaimed as he backed away from me as the darkness swirled around me and I was able to control as best as I could, though my neck was somewhat itching.
"No idea." That's when I noticed my blood still on Lux's lips. "Lux, you got a little something..." I pointed to my lips and then to his and he got it almost immediately.
"Oh yeah thanks..." Lux wiped the blood off of his mouth. "Shupple..."
"Hmm?" I looked up at Lux.
"I am going to be honest with you. You're alright," Lux told me as he stood up and straightened his jacket. I didn't say anything but watch him. I wanted to hear more, I guess. "If this mansion was like school, you'd be that girl that I wouldn't take the time of day to even talk to you. You're just that type of girl that I would just walk by I guess."
That made me feel awkward and look down. I had kind of grown up like that. Lux continued. "But, then again, I am glad I have spoken to you Shupple. You are actually really cool. You're honest. You're a real and not plastic. I like that. I know that you probably were an outsider and I know that all too well. After all, I had been hurt pretty bad.. I have the scars to prove it. Just continue to shine the way you do now. No one can ask for someone as real and beautiful as you are Shupple. Mear is very lucky." Lux turned to the door and I sniffled a little. Nobody had really told me any of that before about me. Not a lot anyways and surprisingly, it made me feel better just a little.
"Thanks Lux."
"Also, from what Xio said to you." We had to bring him up in a calm moment. Lux looked seriously at me as he turned around. "He is the type of guy who speaks his mind no matter who he hurts. I know this all to well. If he likes you and says your beautiful...he means it," Lux sighed as he opened up the door. I was kind of dreading that. "Take it as a compliment I guess. He wouldn't say something that he didn't mean, he's a pretty honest person, even if he is a bit shady." I could take it as a compliment, but I didn't want to.
I drifted into thinking about all of what happened with Xio. If what Lux said was true, I was going to dread the future.
"Shupple?" I jumped a little at the sound of Lux's voice and realized that I didn't reply to that.
"Yes?" I looked up at him from the spot I was sitting in.
"I need to go clean up after that mess. I mean I am covered in blood, dirt, and who knows whatever else and to be honest..." Lux chuckled as I really wanted to itch the holes in my neck. "I probably smell a bit." It was true. I could kind of smell him from here.
"You do actually," I giggled.
"Gah, you're not suppose to agree with me." We both laughed then. "Okay, well, I best be going now, Shupple. Please excuse me but go to Mear, he needs you more than anything. Also, if there is anything you ever need...you have a new friend in me, sweetie." He gave me a smile and then left.
It was weird because just as I left, I could sense some of my power in him. That's different. That's never happened before, but then again... I've never been bitten before. I could feel Lux's presence in me too, if he felt me in him, which sounded a little weird in my head. I stood up, rubbed my neck and felt only a little bit of blood. I did need to get to Mear, like Lux said, and I was glad to have Lux as a friend. He was nice and trustworthy... He had complimented me, which felt somewhat nice. I had never really been complimented like that before...
I moved myself up to my room, cleaned my neck a bit before I put a small bandage on my neck and changed into pajama bottoms and a new tank top before I went up to Mear's room on the third floor.
I got up to his room and knocked a little before putting my head in. Mear was at his studio desk, drawing sketches and crumpling some of them up and throwing them in the trash can. I could see he was trying to get out of his artist's block...
Seeing Mear's hat, I crept up behind him and took his hat, which made him get out of his zone and turn around at me.
"That's where my hat went," Mear said as I gave his hat back to him and put it back on his head.
"You feeling any better, Mear?" I asked him and he stared at his work for a moment and then up at me.
"A bit," Mear shrugged. "It's just hard, I guess..." He left off and I took the only seat next to his studio and put a hand on top of his, which made both of us blush.
"Want me to help?" I asked quietly, remembering this whole night of my "help."
"S-Sure," Mear told me and I just tried to help him as my hand rested on his as we both went over sketches about which ones worked and which ones didn't. Mear was frustrated because of the huge hole in the house, and I tried helping him as much as I could. He started too hum to his Own Tempo as we both got more tired as the minutes progressed.
"Hey, Mear?" Mear looked at me. "I-Is it okay if I go to bed? I'm getting tired," I told him and he smiled a little with a light blush on his cheeks.
"I-I don't mind. I-I was actually thinking of going to bed myself," Mear told me and I just did a small nod. It was almost nerve wreaking to be around Mear, but I controlled myself. I didn't want him to find out about today.
"O-Okay. I'll bring you breakfast later if you want if you're staying up here," I told Mear as I stood up and walked over to the door.
"O-Okay. If that's okay with you," Mear told me and I smiled.
"I don't mind," I told him before I left and went back downstairs to my room and once I closed the door, I passed my mirror, thinking I saw some sort of light or yellow part in one of my eyes or near my neck but I ignored it, snuggled up inside my bed and almost immediately fell asleep with too many thoughts in my head.
