TIME: When Xio runs in with Rikku
~~~
I sat up. My nerves had calmed, and my mood had improved a bit. Happy thoughts really did help... In accordance with my still rumbling stomach (I really hope they have real food around here), I got up and went back with the others. It appeared they had taken on a new project. Without the Lopunny. That kind of niceness will earn you some respect, my taunting, and a sore back...
"Uh, hey," I said walking in.
"Nya! Shola-chan!" said Nyarth, running over. Ugh, cats...
"Sorry about earlier. I wasn't feeling well. Blame the ramen. I think I'm fine now." I said apologetically. If I didn't say that, I didn't want that uncomfortable silence that I knew would form.
"That's okay, Shola!" Tanner smiled. I suddenly recognized a new face in the corner. A Chinchou? It didn't seem to like me. Not that that bothered me... A famous author once wrote: "It is better to be feared than loved." He remained quiet in the corner, and I pretty much forgot about him. Suddenly, a Luxray ran into the room, looking bruised and beaten, with an even worse off Pikachu girl in his arms.
“SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME MY GOD PLEASE!!!” he yelled“I NEED A DOCTOR!!! SHE NEEDS HELP!”
Something about him... he put on a good show, but I knew guys like him. He was putting on a show to take blame off himself. It wasn't my business what he did, but he was quite the liar.
“Are you okay what happened?” Tanner asked running over. I stopped the little bit of work I had been doing and turned to see. Really, they were actually believing this guy?
“Oh god it was horrible…” he said, pretending to wipe away tears. If there were any, they were obviously fake. This guy really didn't fool me at all. “I was in the pool with her and all of a sudden she snapped. Everything went black and oh my god, it was beyond any words. I can’t even describe the horrific scene.”
“She snapped?” Tanner voiced my thought. She couldn't be... one of them? “Is…..is that so???” I saw his hand move to his face. Something about the Tanglegrowth suddenly changed. It wasn't like one of those... it just changed.
“Oh my gosh, you are both so bloody and bruised up. You are badly injured as well umm…” said the Lumineon, walking over to the Luxray. I believe her name was Lunette...
“My…my name is Xio. But I need to find someone for her….she’s hurt badly. She went out of control and I had no choice but to defend myself. Oh god I don’t want her to die. I am scared….” he said. Oh, God... that was so fake I wanted to turn around and puke. A big Luxray like him, scared for a little Pikachu girl that he probably put in this condition single handedly? Pft.
“I know this isn’t the best time my dear Xio,” Lunette replied. “I think Lupe might know best right now. Nyarth, do you know where she went?” AH HELL NO WE ARE NOT GOING TO VISIT THAT RABBIT!
“Yup Lunette, I think Lupe headed upstairs the last time I saw her nya!” Nyarth answered. No. Nononononono...
“Tanner do you think you can help Xio and this girl?” Lunette asked the Tanglegrowth, who still seemed off. However, he was slowly clearing up.
“Why? The damn loud mouth is better gone anyway!” I snorted, not being able to hold in my oppinion any longer. The bitch was seriously irritating.
“NYA Lupe isn’t that bad!” Nyarth argued. That coming from a whining, not-even-teen cat didn't say anything to me.
“Tch, the bunny is too bossy Nyarth, and Shola is right!” Tanner backed me up. “Better the be gone then here.”
“Ah yeah sure no problem.” He said as, standing up,
“Thank you for your kindness, but, I think it is best that I do this myself.” The Luxray said, with a sickeningly sweet smile. “I don’t want anyone to else to get dirty or covered in blood, so I will be on my way. Thanks for your help.” He bowed politely, then with help from Tanner to stand, turned and left. Well, he may be quite the actor, but at least he wouldn't have brought his beaten victem to us if he didn't plan on actually helping her.
It was silent for a moment in the room. Then we all started working again. Picking up a piece of felt and put it between the hammer and the nail head of the board I was hammering in place. Tapping it, the sound was a bit muffled.
"That Luxray put on quite the act," I murmered to myself. Nyarth, who wasn't far away, seemed to here me.
"Nya?" Nyarth said questioningly.
"Nothing," I told him. "Somethings are better left alone." He seemed still puzzled, but left me alone. Something, though, something didn't seem right. It was more than the fact that he probably put on the act to keep himself out of trouble. That Luxray had more behind him than he revealed.
Finally, the room was literally sparkling. Every wood surface had been polished, every flat (and some not flat) surfaces were dusted and cleaned.
"It's done," I said, wiping the sweat off my brow. "Now, I heard something about a pool..." In fact, I remember smelling the chlorine a while ago.
"A break sounds good about now," "Yeah," "Good idea," others chimed in. I made my way to where I had located the pool earlier. Walking into it, I stopped dead. The room still smelled slightly of blood and a faint bit of poison. I'm sure most normal people wouldn't detect it my trained nose picked up blood even cleaned up a week ago.
I peel off my shirt, revieling the bathing suit I often subsituted for underwear. Taking off my shoes, I sank into the cool water, feeling my muscles relaxing. Sinking down on the step until only from my nose up was above the water. Remaining like that for a few minutes, I suddenly jolted off from the step, swimming across the pool litterally at 75 mph. Going back at the same speed, I had completed the lap in less then 8 seconds. Returning to the step, I sank into the water again. Suddenly I heard a voice.
"May I join you?" I whipped around to see who it was.
