Call it a strange reaction to a chain of events but her mind was actually out of everything that was happening around her; the last few days, or hours (because she wasn’t sure), the Houndoom girl had been working and helping around the mansion, she too met with her brother and felt at ease, felt happy; that’s when she snapped out of it; she returned to the current time and the only thing that was present on her mind was a scent of blood and then…
“Aberius!” She said to herself as she noticed she was alone in her room; what was she doing? Probably resting from everything, however the only thing on her mind was a question ¿Was he all right? For the faces of everyone and the previous behaviors, he had to be alive, his scent was around too.
Well, first things come first right? I should probably go and check his state…after taking a bath.
The bath didn’t take that long and some minutes after, she was following his scent up to a closed door, perhaps he was sleeping? For a moment she doubted in knocking or not but at the end her curiosity was bigger and so she knocked softly.
“Can I come in?” seconds later she regretted the way the question was made and knowing he was probably not going to answer she began to step away slowly; then there was a sound coming from inside and as far as she could tell, she heard a “come in”; she was happy.
“¿Can I help you?” The Absol said with a strange expression that indicated the girl she somehow wasn’t welcomed; still she simply wanted to stay there for a while.
“You…look different” She said without being able to look to another side noticing his expression wasn’t changing “Oh I didn’t mean because of your arms…” After he raised an eyebrow she felt pretty embarrassed and gave herself a mental slap while her face flushed “just…I mean..” She stepped closer to him “That’s it! You look taller!...you are taller right?”
“Oh yeah…It always happens when-” suddenly he got quiet and Hoom noticed he didn’t want to talk about it; she remembered Raine talking to her about something going wrong with him but at the current time she still didn’t know what had happened there; however everyone had those subjects they didn’t want to touch at the moment so she continued trying to change the course of the conversation.
“Hmm so I wasn’t wrong, that’s why you looked different…anyway you look good” she smiled at him and continued “…but do you feel good?” That time she was referring to his condition, regardless of him wanting to talk about the event or not, she was worried. He looked at her then to his arms and moved them a little bit.
“Well, I’m able to move them now…so yes, I guess I’m getting better” he said still looking at them somehow lost in thoughts, then he got out of his them when she sat down on his bed.
“I wish I could help you heal faster…”
“huh?”He seemed surprised “…anyway, ¿Are you all right Hoom?” The question caught her by surprise and since she kept quiet trying to figure out what to say, an awkward silence was build.
"Hey Aberius, do you ever have any girl problems?" She finally said chuckling seconds later because of his face “It’s nothing…don’t mind me…”
“Maybe it has to do with the festival?”
With the festival?....Festival….CRAP The FESTIVAL!
The Houndoom had forgotten about it, her mind had truly entered a phase of defense in which it erased information
“The festival?....”
“Yes, the festival that starts today…” For his tone of voice he was getting irritated by her answers, but it wasn’t her fault, it surprised her.
“Crap….” Was the only thing she said as a list of things she needed to do passed through her mind…minutes later, after struggling she realized she still had some time and relaxed ignoring the awkward silence she was going to break “¿Are you going to go to the Festival?” She tilted her head returning to her normal self
“Not today… I’m sure of that…” he looked confused by the sudden change of mood.
“What about later?”
“Probably?...I’m not sure…” Hoom remained in silence for some seconds and realized that it could be depressing for him to stay in bed during the festival.
“Then promise me something” She got closer to him and smiled as he gave her a WTF face “Promise me you will go to the festival and will do something with me” His WTF face got worse as she continued “Anything, going to eat or something…..what do you say?”
“Why should I have to…..?” She wasn’t going to give up
“Aww Come on Abbie! It would be fun!...pwease?” She gave him the puppy eyes as she ignored the fact she called him Abbie and waited for a long time before he finally sighed and said in a low voice
“Fine, I guess I don't have a choice..." She smiled and her tail wagged
“Then it’s a promise!” She stood up from his bed “That being said I will wait you at the festival…hope you finish to heal fast; Bye!” she said stepping out of his room realizing she was so much more relaxed than before.
On the other side of the mansion there was another girl deep in thoughts; she had previously met a Roselya gijinka which appeared to be a nice person; in fact if she weren’t feeling like she was then, she would surely made a longer conversation with her; she felt ashamed for her behavior but her mood was low and at the moment she just felt like walking around the new place; as her activity continued, she noticed there was something strange going on, there were few people around, the previous dizziness caused by different scents was decreasing and then the answer came to her mind: The festival. Everything had sense, probably the majority was getting ready for it, with their couples…couples…
“Or alone…with friends…..? ”She whispered to herself looking through a window and hearing a sound near her; because she wanted to forget what she was thinking, her head turned to face the one causing the noise.
“You…” Both girls said at the same time
“Hoom?”
“Lun?” They smiled for formality then Hoom continued “…wait, can I call you Lun? Or is it a nickname that only he uses?” They kept quiet for some seconds but then the Lumineon smiled again.
“Of course you can call me like that, I don’t have any problem at all….Now May I ask why you are still here?” She cut herself in the middle of the phrase because she was aware she sounded rude “..I mean…the festival…” it was as if she had clicked a button on the other girl.
“That’s right!! It starts today right? and I have to get a lot of things done before meeting with Lux” There was a chuckle coming from Lun as she saw how much energy the girl in front had and still, she was insecure of how to use it all.
“I presume Lux is…your boyfriend? Then did things turned out well with him?” seconds later Lun realized she wasn’t in the position of saying anything at all
“....Forgive me! It wasn’t my intention, is just that I heard from…”
“From Gil? It’s ok…Then I can assume things with both of you turned …?” Lun blushed and gave the answer by doing so ”oh….I see, then I’m glad for you two”
An honest smile came from Hoom then she continued as if they had met from a long time “…Ne Lun, are you going to the festival?” Hoom felt as if she had asked something stupid because of the fault Gil wasn’t around, but what she didn’t know was that the girl in front of her was thinking about the possibility of going; she thought that if she was distracted it could be better and so she could also meet and talk to the other gijinkas around.
“Actually…it doesn’t sound as a bad idea”
“Really? Then…is it weird if I ask you come with me to choose our outfits and stuff together? I will need a second opinion” Hoom blushed, not sure if it was from embarrassment or because she really wanted to surprise Lux; what she did know was that both of them needed to distract themselves with anything, besides who knows? Maybe they would have fun by doing so.
“Weird? No, not at all, it would be interesting if we do that; distracting away of things from time to time is good for you right?”
“Yosh! Then let’s go” Both smiled again and walked towards the town in search of proper outfits; they entered few stores and finally decided on one that was kind of empty in comparison of the other ones, the only thing they both hoped was that they could find the kimono they were looking for.
They were lucky enough to enter a place attended by gijinkas and they too were lucky to be able to find out what they were looking for; Hoom, after being advised by Lunette and the owner of the shop, acquired a purplish kimono with a blue and green design; on the other hand Lunette, after thinking it for a while decided on a black one that had blue and pink designs. Both clothes accommodated themselves to their bones and fins.
“What about your hair? We can also come up with a hairstyle perfect for each of you” The owner said when they were almost done.
“We appreciate it but I’m going to take care of that detail; thank you so much for your help…good evening” The Lumineon said ignoring the surprised face of the Houndoom as they both exited the store and walked to some other little stores in which they both bought things for their hair and also some scents the Lumineon insisted on buying.
“Are you sure…?”
“You want to surprise him right?” Hoom nodded in silence “Then, trust me; it looks different but you look cute”
“What about you Lun?”
“About me? Don’t mind, I will be ready for it…Now let me see your face…” That said Lunette continued helping Hoom until she was ready.
“Thank you so much Lun! Are you returning to the mansion?” She got an affirmative answer “…Can I ask you for another favor?”
“Not a problem Hoom, tell me…”
“You can use Aqua Ring right? Can you use that move on someone at the mansion? His name is Aberius, he is an Absol and I think that move will help somehow…” Lunette blinked and remained in silence analyzing the possible options, at the end she decided she would do it since she had never seen an Absol gijinka and so meeting him would be interesting aside of helping him too.
“I’d love to help him if he agrees…That said, you are going to stay in the town right?”
“Yes, I want to have a little walk before everything starts”
“Fine, then I’ll see you at the festival…”
