It was in the wee hours of the morning when Sheek was snapped out of her stargazing trance. A chilly gust of wind stirred her senses, and she shivered. It must be midnight or even a little past, she thought. She stretched, the pop pop pop of her joints straightening her bones out the only sound besides the chirps of the cicadas. I better get going if I want to make some money before daybreak, she told herself. After one last glance of longing towards the sky, Sheek set off for the not-so-great unknown.
Running had become an unconscious habit for her. She was always flying through life on two jet-propelled feet. What was ironic was, she was always running away from something rather than towards it, whether it be escaping from the cops, or going out for an afternoon jog to leave boredom behind. But hey, this was a lightning-fast way of life, and everyone was your enemy. Clutching the brass necklace more firmly in her hand, Sheek sped up a few paces.
She broke free from the forest within minutes. A road led towards dim lights glowing on the horizon. Another tiny town, Sheek snickered. This should be an easy sell. She followed the pathway stretched out before her. No one was out at this time, so it was perfect. She would be able to arrive in the town in about half an hour or so, sell her goods, and split.
The village she arrived in consisted of about twenty buildings of assorted sized mashed together, probably simply for a purpose of putting a dot on the road map. Surprisingly, quite a few people were out roaming the streets. Sheek quickly scanned the area for police officers, and when there were none to be found, she started strolling around, looking for a potential customer. Eventually, she noticed a girl of about age 12, sparkling with accessories. Like a hawk zoning in on a mouse, Sheek approached her.
"Hello Miss. I see you like jewelry. I was wondering if I could sell this necklace that I didn't want anymore to someone who'd appreciate it," she told the girl in a businesslike tone. The child raised an eyebrow, but replied, "Go on."
"As you can tell, this is a nice piece of work. Built from sturdy brass, a chain necklace with a large heart pendant. Inspect it for yourself." Sheek handed the girl the jewelry piece.
After looking over every detail of the accessory, the girl asked, "How much do you want for it?"
"Ten dollars. But we could negotiate another price-"
"Ten dollars is fine," the girl interrupted, forking over the cash from her pocket. "Thank you!" she added, and departed.
Sheek stared after her. It wasn't like she had offered a dishonest price; the thing could have been sold for a couple more bucks. How much did she have now? She pulled out her billfold. She counted forty dollars exactly. That was enough to last her several more days. She put away the money and made ready for leave.
She shuffled silently through the streets, dodging in and out of foot traffic. The main part of town had already been passed, and she would be reunited with the countryside very soon. She was taking a shortcut through an alleyway when, suddenly, something shot forwards and took hold of her ankles, tripping her. At once, Sheek knew her attacker. Damn Pokemon Bounty Hunters, she thought, readying to unleash a mind-numbing Thunderbolt. But her annoyance turned to panic when her signature move simply fizzled out upon command. They have something that cancels out the electrons. They were planned for this! her mind screamed. Iron Tail wouldn't help her in this situation, and neither would Thief or Protect. She was rendered utterly helpless.
Someone had now taken hold of her wrists as well and was hoisting her into the air. "No! No! This wasn't supposed to happen! Let go of me! Please! I'll do anything! Help! Someone! I'm being assaulted here! SOMEONE!" Sheek shrieked, flailing about like a fish caught in a net. Something knocked her violently on the head, silencing her after a whimper from the pain. Her senses began to wane. Just before she slipped into unconsciousness, she heard someone whisper one line into her ear:
"Pride comes before a fall."

So yeah. This is the result of boredom and wanting punishment for Sheek after she couldn't handle being a team member. Not sure if anyone can continue or what's gonna happen. OTL
