Looking Back on the year and the decade

2009

So what do we have here for this year? Lots of high and low points. I guess every year has 'em but this year had those points a lot more accentuated. Boy, unfortunately the low points come to my head first. Life is pain, highness anyone who tells you differently is selling something quote from the Princess Bride. *ahem* Anyway with low points of the world (meaning not personal), I guess I'll mention the celebrity deaths. Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mayes, and... a whole bunch of other folks went and passed on. Now, if you're wondering why I'm not sounding so sad, is because well, it's not like I knew them personally. I do give respect though I'm not mean. Personally as a low point would be the death of my grandmother. I was hoping I would finally see her again this year after seeing her over four years ago and instead she dies. That tore me up. I drew one final picture for her.
External Image Gees, I can't remember any low points, my memory doesn't go too far when it concerns those types of memories, all for the better I guess.

The high points of the year non personally, all those great games that came out! Batman Arkham Asylum, Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Blazblue, Uncharted 2, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Borderlands, 'Splosion Man, Shadow Complex, the list goes on. So many wonderful games and next year (if you read my previous behemoth post) looks to top even this. Speaking of one of those games is a true gem among gems, Uncharted 2. A masterpiece I am glad to own. It won game of the year from different award shows for a reason. If you own a PS3 or are getting one, do yourself a favor and pick it up. By the way there was another game that came to mind just now, Infamous, yet another fantastic PS3 exclusive that should be owned by all PS3 owners.

Personal highlights? Well, I'd say finally getting a decent desktop computer in the Mac Mini. Love this thing to death. Such a brilliant little machine, and it seems a lot of the tech world agree with me, if you're looking to get your first ever Mac and you don't have a lot of money buy a Mac Mini they're powerful for their size. *ahem* Enough of the commercial. Let's see what else happened? I guess the obvious getting better stuff. Art is getting more and more to how I want it to look. I'm very happy about that. I really am, I don't know if it sounds like I don't care but I feel so happy when I draw something that came out to how I want it to look, and this year it's getting closer to that. I wasn't going to mention this before as I was thinking "who cares" but as a martial artist I've grown. You still won't see me doing those flipping, jumping kicks. Which most would agree isn't practical anyway but I've got more control, AND something happened to me. I've finally understood what Bruce Lee means by don't think, feel. If you've seen The Last Dragon I think you'll understand when I say "I've got the glow". Hmm, my brain sort of froze on me. So how about this? Those of you who are reading this, how about providing your own key points in 2009?
