Lord, these past two weeks. Started school, a bunch of crazy crap, bunch of good stuff too. So how to start? Well, I go to school, first day was the usual, you know just explaining what the class is and all. Then I take my web design class and that one, man, it seems the professor doesn't have any sense of time. Each class has gone longer than it's supposed to. Though I have to admit I learned a lot already so that's good.
Oh, and during the first week the car breaks down. What joy, so I take the bus, and before I continue I will let it be known that I effing HATE public transportation! Why? The wackos! PERFECT example would be the day right after the car breaks down and I take the bus to go to school. Some old African American guy steps on the bus and the entire time during the bus ride was saying some pretty racist, vulgar, and downright disturbing things about Puerto Ricans. Usually you'd just peg him as a nut and don't listen but it was hard not to when he sounded like he was going to snap and try to kill all the Puerto Ricans on the bus (I'm being serious) so I was a bit afraid, not only that but I can't excuse his words to the little kids (about 3 to 5 years old they were) saying he'd kill them, and that he'd use their organs and such. I was pretty freaked out and enraged. Though I kept it all inside. Luckily he actually didn't do anything but I was thinking to myself "if I had to kill this man, to spare the lives of others could I? If he whipped out a gun, and was ready to pull the trigger on someone could I stop him in time?" Darn, if anything that just proves I'm no master yet. Oh, and did I mention that another disgusting thing he did was say that he was a preacher and that everything he was saying was what God wanted him to do?
Alright, let's move on from that, because everything else was good after that crap. We bought a couple of DVD's these past few weeks, and some games too. Let's see for games we bought the God Of War Collection, Darksiders, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, and Valkyria Chronicles. I actually made a video where I showed some Tatsunoko Vs Capcom gameplay, watch it here. As for DVDs let's see we bought Planet Hulk, The Next Avengers, a Wolverine and the X-Men DVD volume, A 2 disc season set of the 90s X-Men cartoon, Yu Yu Hakusho season 4, Yu Yu Hakusho first 14 episodes (for 97 cents mind you), Batman and Superman: Public Enemies, and Ong Bak 2. Wow... doesn't that show how much of a Marvel fan I am? I got 4 Marvel DVDs and only one DC one. XD
Oh, and here's an awesome story concerning the purchase of some of those DVDs, so my father and I were at FYE at the mall, right? Well, it turns out that FYE was having a little trivia contest about anime that day to win some gift cards. There was this girl talking about how she was a hardcore anime fan and she was getting the questions right. But then the quiz giver said, "ok, this one everybody get's wrong" and he asked "what was the first successful anime in the United States?" She got it wrong, and then my father walks into the store and just blurts out Speed Racer, and then the store guys stops us and gives us a ten dollar gift card because he got it right! That was pretty awesome.
Something else that happened was that my best friend Ralf Jones came over my house for the weekend. It was awesome, I haven't seen him in person since last September. We had a lot of fun of course. Also with him coming over we were able to make a new video podcast. Which is what I sent you to earlier regarding Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.
So yeah, despite one thing, these first two weeks back in college have been pretty good. I can't wait until I get my money, then I'll finally start the Karate Bum tokusatsu reviews for the Anime Mavericks.
