Okay, maybe not dead... But I'm really, really tired. And my shoulders/back/legs/feet hurt. :P
Sorry about not commenting on anything or telling almost anyone I was going yesterday and most of today. I was meaning to comment yesterday about where I was going, but literally the second I clicked on the 'post' button, the doorbell rang. No kidding.
Anyway, this week I'm a program assistant (PA for short) at a girl scout camp in my area. I'm still a girl scout, yeah. Kind of dorky, but whatever. It looks good on college applications! *lame excuse*
But really, it's loads of fun. I slept over last night so we could get camp ready for all the kids, and then got my schedule and all that stuff. Today was the first day, and I had one heck of a time. :D
For this week I have the following schedule:
Monday (today) - Archery
Tuesday - Crafts
Wednesday - Water Play
Thursday - Nature
Friday - Time Tunnel (aka the big inflatable play thingy)
It may sound like a lot of stereotypical camp things, but it's a lot of fun. I'm known as Tonks (from Harry Potter) at camp, and I was working with a PA named Milly, as well as a PAIT (PA in training...) named Gummy Bear and a counselor named Artemis (that's why she runs archery. You know, Greek goddess of the hunt?). The PAIT left halfway through the day, but Milly and I hung out and taught the kids how to put on the protective arm bands right, as well as handed out the Jolly Ranchers they get from coming, and the beads. Beads are a big part of camp, each unit gets them and trades them with other units.
Anyway, it was really nice because the kids were all pretty well behaved and I actually got to shoot a few times myself. I went... maybe four times? And I got bulleyes three times. :3 And I got a ride up to the flagpole (everything is pretty well spread out across the land that's given, so walking isn't too fun) on the golf cart that Artemis has. So lucky!
And I'm super lucky because I didn't get stuck with any of the units this year. Which means I don't have to watch any girls besides the ones that come to my station. Last year I got stuck with the boys (they do have boys, but a small number; mainly brothers or sons of the girls/moms that come to camp) for a while, so I'm happy that I didn't end up with a group this year. I'd rather be at stations. The boys came to archery and they were pretty crazy, but they're not too bad as I thought. *laughs*
My friends didn't get off so lucky. One of them is with Daisies, one's with the boys, others are with 4th and 5th graders. I'm basically the only one who didn't get a unit. Sweeeeeeet.
Okay, enough boring you all. Just thought you should know that I'm not going to be on very much this week because I'm gone from 8:30 AM 'till 5 PM, except for Wednesday when I sleepover again. So if I'm not commenting and replying to PMs, that's why.
Alright, I'd ask you some questions, but I'm tired and hungry. So 'till next time, guys! Take care!
