Hey guys! How's everyone doing? I haven't posted or uploaded anything in a while, but I've got some things I'm working on, so I'll be more active soon. I'f you haven't seen it yet, issue 2 of Kagamure is up, so if you have a little time to kill, please give it a read. So far issue 2 has 8 views, and I think about 6 of them were actually me checking in to see how many views it got I know you guys are busy and have jobs and hobbies and lives and such, but if you could just take a look, I would really appreciate it. Besides, issue 2 sucks way less than issue 1, so it's actually fairly good entertainment!
Speaking of comic books, something pretty cool happened to me. I was at Comic Boom to see if the new Ms Marvel was in yet. It wasn't, and I always feel silly walking out of a store without buying anything, so I grabbed the first interesting book I saw, which was issue 1 of the new Guardians of the Galaxy series, which is totally kickass, btw. I actually laughed out loud a few times while reading it, which I, like, never do. Anyway, I was paying for the book, and I realized I was a quarter short. I was so embarrassed. But the guy at the counter spotted me a quarter, so I didn't have to put it back. It's little stuff like that that makes you realize people are really pretty great :)
A lot of pretty neat stuff has happened the last few weeks, but the biggest thing was probably that I got a job! (cue Handel's Messiah ) Finally, I don't have to hoard babysitting money and allowances! I can finally actually BUY stuff! It's a seasonal job at Jo-Ann Fabrics, which is about fifteen minutes away from my school. Which is good, because I don't need a car to get there, which I couldn't do because I couldn't pay for Driver's Ed or a car because I don't have money, which is why I need a job I was supposed to go in for orientation yesterday, but they haven't finished my background check yet. Dunno what there is to check, I haven't done anything with my life. But I've pretty much got the job, which is awesome. I'm going to save up to buy an electric guitar, which is something I've wanted forever. I have an acoustic, but have you ever tried playing "Bad Reputation" on an acoustic? My guitar is a great guitar for Johnny Cash and early Beatles, but I wanna rock out!
In other dumb stuff that happened to me, I almost got my head kicked in in Adventure Challenge. AC is a class for upperclassmen who need a second PE cred to graduate, which due to my schedule being horribly screwed up the last two years, I need to take. AC is basically trust falls and team building and such, and also we climb trees and do ropes courses and stuff. It's a lot of fun, but most of the kids in there are total idiots. We're talking the kind of people who smoke pot in the bathroom because they think no one will notice. Not exactly Ivy League material, is what I'm saying. Anyway, we've been doing this swing in class. The swing is a wire strung between two trees that you climb up on a ladder and hook your harness to. Your harness is also hooked to a pulley, so once your'e connected we move the ladder and pull you up to the top of the pulley. Once you're up there, you pull a cord that takes you off the pulley and you fall and go swinging between the trees. So the person in the swing is supposed to wait for the ladder to be moved and the ladder spotters to get out of the path of the swing. But the genius in the swing pulls the cord while I'm still walking to the other end. I look up, and he's coming right at my face. I was like, oh crap. I didn't have time to think, I dropped to the ground and rolled out of the way. If I had waited a second longer I'd be in the hospital right now. One of the other guys got the whole thing on video, but the teacher made him delete it from his phone so she didn't lose her job. Clearly I can't rely on the school staff from preventing grave injuries. All I've got going for me are my mad ninja skills (aaand we have a title!)
