Hey all! today's the last day of school before February break and I'm totally psyched! Do cool people say "psyched"? Or is it lame? Maybe I just lost all my cool-kid cred... I'm really cheerful and hyperactive right now, and I don't really know why. things just seem to be going my way for once.
My dad is probably going to upgrade his computer soon, and he might let me have his old Macbook, which would be awesome. It's oldish, but it's faster than the desktop I use now, which is like fifteen years old, and it's got the Adobe suite. Plus, I could actually watch all the anime I want to watch, and also it's got a Strong Bad sticker on it, which is awesome.
THE NEXT PARAGRAPH CONTAINS EXCESSIVE FANGIRLING. READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION One of my friends was telling me that some Star Wars fans are shipping Poe and Finn. I'd like to throw my two cents in and say i think that's kinda dumb. First of all, Finn and Rey are totally an item, second, Poe and Finn are bros, third, I ship me and Poe really hard.
We're doing a surreal colored pencil drawing in Advanced Art, and i'm going to do a Kagamure drawing so I can use it for a cover. It's gonna be so cool. While I was looking for references I remembered a cover from Hopeless Savages one of my favorite comics, and speaking of which, a new HS miniseries just came out! I'm psyched about that too where all the characters were in test tubes. I did some searching and it turned out to be inspired by album art for a band called X-Ray Spex. I listened to some of their stuff, and it was kinda awesome. I didn't know there was such a thing as a punk rock saxophonist, but it's a thing, and it is amazing. We're doing ceramic cylinders in Pottery, and I want to do one with a pattern inspired by the Mirror of Twilight from LOZ: Twilight princess, but we'll see.
I've been writing more song lyrics recently. I'm always scrawling down rhymes and ideas in my song journal (which is a mini spiral-bound with Baymax on the cover, because I'm a dork ), but they usually don't go anywhere. These are feeling really complete, though, like I could really do something with them. I'm going to try and work out some chords on my guitar when I get home. This is the one I wrote like 15 minutes ago, it's called "Burn Down the White House" and FTW I'm not actually gonna burn anything down, so don't worry :)
