For some reason, this weekend I ended up getting off on a tangent of listening to Metal music. Something I normally do not listen to as the signature style singing or rather metal 'scream' as it were is something that I loathe. It's like nails on a chalkboard. *shudder* However on the flip side, if something is either missing that sound or has a great instrumental version I'll check that out. And that includes Nightwish's album Dark Passion Play. I picked that up last year, I had to import it in order to get the bonus disk but it was worth paying for it since I really like the instrumental version.

My favorite being this piece here: The Poet and the Pendulum. It's so beautiful and expressive and it has a cello solo at about 4:30 into the song that I really like. I'm a sucker for good cello solo's no matter what the song. But then it is my instrument of choice.

Anyway, that just lead to listening to other songs and before long I had spent several hours listening to metal music, mostly by Nightwish. o_O Not my usual Sunday afternoon/evening music, that's for sure. Heh.

Other than that not much is going on. My spring break started so I'm off from school until the 24th. Just sitting here knowing I have no obligations whatsoever is sweet. Well other than to practice, but that's a given. I can't help that one. My day just doesn't seem right if I haven't. XP
