Hit by a car

Friday night, we thought my cat, Luna, was raped at first, so we didn't take her to the vet. But she wasn't getting any better and I noticed her toe-nails had grinded down to almost nothing (Monday). So we took her to the vet right away and he said a fight, then another vet said she ran away from a fight...

This is Luna the day after the incident (Saturday).

She's trying to hide cuz she's in pain.

Luna had to be sedated (Tuesday) for a proper examination, cuz she's very aggressive and can tear a person's arm to shreds. The x-ray showed a dislocated chest, so it's more likely that she was hit by a car.

It's been a rough couple of days. Luna's barely eating or drinking. She's in a lot of pain... She can barely walk. She's bruised all over.

Here's her x-ray.

You can see that the bones in her lower chest have dislocated. They're supposed to be aligned. All that milky area around the dislocation is fluid build-up, and probably some blood in her lungs too.

You can see the fluid bulge in this picture.

There's nothing the vet can do to treat Luna, other than giving her anti-inflammatory and anti-biotics. Luna has to rest for the next 6 weeks. No running, no jumping, minimum walking. So the vet gave us a large cage for her. She's to stay in it for the whole 6 weeks.

She's home now, but really upset about being caged.

My poor baby...
