“ Why are you in our forest, human?” I stared at those green eyes. Transfixed at the color and the depth of them. He only stared back. I couldn't stop but think about how many secrets he must keep. His eyes were so deep. Like there was so much going on in his mind. I keeled over and coughed up blood as someone kicked me hard in my stomach.
“Answer the Young Lord, you ungrateful human!” I coughed again. I looked up at the guy who had kicked me. He was a bit shorter than the younger guy. Built sturdy with broad shoulders. His eyes were also green but not as piercing, they seemed a bit dull. His hair was a bit shorter with some gray. I'm sure, and I knew, that what ever age he was he was strong and that the kicks he gave me weren't all his strength. He kicked me again.
“ Stop it Aldrim!” Said the young lord stepping between me and the older guy. “ We do not want to hurt her. Just know why she is here and how she got here.”
Coughing I looked back up at him. He kneeled down next to me and untied the ropes around my hands. I consciously sat up and rubbed my wrists. He didn't move to get up but just kept kneeling next to me and looked at me. It made me uncomfortable the way he looked at me. He stood up and reached his hand to help me up. Taking his hand I struggled to get up. I still hurt from the other guy kicking me so when I got up a leaned against the nearest tree.
He smiled sadly at me. “I'm sorry for Aldrim. He means well.” I didn't say anything in return. “ I am Tralon prince of the Killeeplith's , People of The Forest.” He smiled as he waited for my response.
“ I'm Evlen Cael. Ranger in training.” I said
“ I understand why you are able to come into this forest now. Rangers are one of the only people allowed to come into my kingdom without our knowledge. But that doesn't tell me why you are here.”
“ My Master and I are camping in the outskirts of the forest so I thought I would explore a bit.”
He smiled at that. “ I'm sure that it's interesting. I can tell you've never been in an Elf's forest before.”
“ Elf?”
“ Yes elf...I see you haven't learned about the other creatures of the world other than the humans.”
“Other creatures?”
“ Oh yes there are much more out there. Unfortunately not all are good. There are evil ones . Far more evil then you could imagine”
“ That bad?”
“ Yes. I can tell you more if you wish.”
“Sure” I said sliding down the tree i was leaning against. The Elf lord sat down next to me and proceeded to tell me about the good creatures like phoenix , fairies, griffins, mermaids, and so much more. To the evils like giants, ogres, shadows. Then he went on to tell me about the history of some of them. But after awhile he stopped.
“ I won't tell you to much more. That’s the job of your master.”
Standing up I Looked up at the sky and notice that it was getting dark.
“ I should get going. Thanks for tell me some things um..”
“Trolan.” He said standing up too. “ No problem, it was nice to teach you some.”
Picking up my bow I started walking the way I came. Eventually I walked out of the forest into the camp that we made for the night.
“Strider I'm back. I'm sorry I took so...” I looked around the camp but found no Strider. “Strider?...Master Strider?!...” I walked around the little camp site in search of any sign of him. “Master!?!”
Someone clapped their hand over my mouth. I looked up to see Tralon.
“ Quit Evlen. Dark beings are close by.”
Moving his hand from my mouth I moved away from him. “ What do you mean dark beings? Where is my Master?”
He looked around. “ I can't be sure. It's more of a feeling at the moment but we can't stay here. Being in the open is not a good idea right now. Please come back to the my palace with me.”
I looked at him in shock. “ You want me to abandon my Master?”
“ No we will look for him. But we need a plan first.” He took my hand and started pulling me back into the woods. “ Do not worry Evlen, we will find your master.” I slowly followed him, but I kept looking back at the campsite. I hopped nothing bad happened to my Master. He was all I had left.
