Hi and Welcome!
This is just a world for me to post a bit about me and anything I find interesting.
About Me
Favorite Anime/Manga: Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, DuRaRaRa!!, Soul Eater, Hetalia, Code Geass, Death Note, Pokemon, Tsubasa, xxxHolic, Fruits Basket, Big Windup!, Eden of the East, Clannad, D. Gray-man, Blue Exorcist, Ouran High School Host Club, Black Butler, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama!, K-ON!, Bakuman, Cardcaptor Sakura
Favorite Video Games: I mostly play RPGs, my all time favorite is Kingdom Hearts (the whole series). I also like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Pokemon games :D, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, some racing games and baseball or soccer games, Assassin's Creed
Music: I'll listen to anything as long as I like it. I usually listen to J-Rock, J-Pop, Alternative and Punk, Spanish Rock, Classical and some Pop...the list goes on...
Sports: I love baseball and soccer
After a great weekend away from campus, I come come back to a mess. I was happy, I even ran into my friends in the elevator and introduced them to my dad and my sister. The moment I enter my room, I encounter my roommate's usual mess, which doesn't bug me, but then I find: my bed undone, uncooked instant ramen noodles under my bed, ramen seasoning on my desk, food crumbs on the printer, and worst of all a gigantic bottle of vodka in our mini-fridge -.- All this coupled with the smell of smoke wafting in from the adjoining room did not help...
Never thought I'd miss home so much. I mean, I not homesick, but coming home for the weekend, sleeping in my soft bed and eating home cooked meals is definitely something to look forward to.
After a fun Anime Club meeting (and meeting tons of people) I couldn't wait to show my sister the new shows I discovered ^-^
Seeing as I finally have a little breathing time, I'll post something. I've been busy all week. I bike to school, run from class to class, sneak meals in, then bike back and start working on all the work for the next day.
As hectic as it is, I'm really enjoying myself. I love my classes, especially Italian. World History is different and very interesting, finally something not U.S. centric!! I really like my Lit class too, the professor's really good. The meaning of poems usually doesn't sink in for me, yet I get everything he says, and now, I'm actually getting better at analyzing them.
I quit my job. I was just as horrible as I imagined. I wouldn't be able to handle that much work and school work. I came back too exhausted to even open a book. Plus, I didn't want to deal with a certain bitchy person (excuse my language)
I have a hard time sleeping sometimes because my floor decides to be loud at 3am -.- this really is a party school...
I went home this past weekend and slept so well I didn't want to go back to my dorm; that and the food's a lot better at home. The food's ok here, but not up to par with a good home-cooked meal.
That's it for now...time to get back to my readings!
I am tired...and classes haven't started yet. Work is horrible. Because of the amount of work I'm seeing (already have homework...) I think I'm going to quit the job. I can't handle both work and studies, at least not this job, it leaves me too exhausted, plus biking to school isn't easy; fun and a bit dangerous, yes, but not easy. I love riding my bike <3
Gah, time to go read the two assigned problems and workbook section for Lit (at 2:20 am) Yay >.>
~Dear History 2A Class,
The course syllabus is now online on GauchoSpace. Please log-in, download, and print it now. There will be no paper syllabus in this course.
See you in IV theater this Friday at 8:00am sharp. (Note in the syllabus that late arrivals will find the doors barred).
Prof. Barbieri-Low~
The first email I received from a professor. I am so looking forward to this class.
So I finally moved in...It's a nice room. My roommate is really nice. She spends more time next door (I haven't met the people in the adjoining room) so I have the room to myself for the most part.
My family nearly made me cry twice!! >////< First, it was my little cousin telling me that she'd miss me and hugging me so tight I couldn't breathe (sunglasses did well to hide my watery eyes); the littlest one didn't get what was going on, probably thought we were just going on a trip, wait until he doesn't see me for a while....Then, when my mom, dad and sister left, they wouldn't let me go. Even my Dad was tearing up, and I've never seen him anywhere near tears before!
Anyway, on to the happier, random news:
Pandora Hearts is freaking AWESOME!! I'm now on volume 11 thanks to the surprisingly well stocked manga section at Fremont Library, too bad I'm not anywhere near it anymore >.> I was reading on the way to UCSB...I couldn't put the books down!
I saw the space shuttle Endeavour fly really close to my building on Friday~! It was definitely impressive. I didn't think I'd get to see it that close. I was so awestruck that I forgot to take a picture >.<
I got a bike last minute today. My dad's friend gave me a bike. I found that really sweet of him and was very grateful; sadly, the bike was too tall for my short self to ride, so I had to go buy another today. It's a light blue cruiser...I have trouble getting off the bike, but the slightly unstable dismount off this bike really beats the near crash-landing from the other bike. I guess all I need is practice (and conditioning, riding that bike for even a short time kills me Dx)
When I arrived at the move-in area, I ran into my friend from orientation ^-^ She helped me and my family unload and set up in my room. I got there before my roommate, so I got the window area. It's got a really nice view of the Santa Barbara Mountains yay for no ocean view :D
Later on, I made a new friend during our floor dinner. She started talking to me out of the blue, yet we still were very quiet. Then, by the pool, Gangnam Style started playing...and we started talking about K-Pop and I happened to mention that I wasn't really familiar with it, but that I listened to J-Pop/Rock. She asked me how I started listening to it, anime came up, and it turns out she loves anime too ^-^ Haha, we talked non stop after that, so much so that we both kinda lost our voices because we were trying to talk over the music. The gathering got a little too rowdy for us, so we left. After making a quick detour to check on my bike (I felt paranoid that I hadn' locked it well enough), we went to my room and watched some D. Gray-Man on my TV.
Tomorrow I'm going to go find all my classrooms and get my bus pass, just in case it rain or I feel too lazy to ride my bike, with my two new friends. Then it's back to the complex to complete the job paperwork...and I'm going to start applying for desk attendant, bookstore and other office jobs...the dinning commons work looks tough...
Here's what the wall above my bed looks like :D
