Hello there. Welcome to my world of Random Thoughts. In this world I’ll be posting stuff about anime and manga. Not to mention various other topics. I may post the occasional music video every now and than. And from time to time, I’ll just talk about my life in general. But first, here are a few things about me.

I was born an only child, for one thing. Originally I was planning to go into art professionally, but recently I’ve been more inclined towards writing. I still do the occasional wallpaper every now and then though, and I also still draw a little. But much of my energy these days goes into writing fan fiction. I’ve also recently become interested in archive and library work, which is something I’ve discovered I’m good at. Finally, like most people on the Internet, I like cats.

That’s pretty much all you need to know about me. I'm not sure how often I'll post something here, but I'll try to as often as I can. In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy visiting.

The Future of Dueling

This post is for all the Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. Specifically those who play the card game. There is a new type of monster card coming to the card game. These monsters are called Exceed monsters. Here are the details I know so far. The Exceed monster cards are black in color, opposite the white Synchro monsters, and have their level stars extending from the right-hand side of the card instead of the left-hand side. Sort of like how they appeared on the Dark Synchro monsters in the 5D's anime. The stars on an Exceed monster don't represent a level though, they represent a rank. Also, the Exceed monsters go into the Extra Deck with the Fusion and Synchro monsters. Here is how an Exceed Summon works, at least as far as I can tell. To start with, you need two monsters with matching levels face-up on the field, let's say two level fours. You take those two monsters and stack them on top of each other. Than you take the Exceed monster who's rank matches the level of the stacked monsters, and place the Exceed monster on top of the stack. So if you're using two level fours, than you're trying to summon a rank four Exceed monster. In the future, there will probably require more than just two monsters to summon. I should also point out that the only known rank four Exceed so far has 2500 attack points, so summoning one of these Exceed monsters is no waste of time. I should also point out that an Exceed Summon counts as a Special Summon. There will also be cards that exploit the material monsters stacked under an Exceed monster, and many of them will probably be the Exceed monsters themselves. There are still a few details about Exceed monsters that are unknown, and once they are known I'll go into the more mechanical details of using Exceed monsters in my Yu-Gi-Oh! Workshop world. Right now though, I'm only talking about my opinion about Exceed monsters, and right now I think these new monsters are going to completely change the card game. It's just like when Synchro monsters came out back in 2008. I'm not saying that the Exceed monsters are a bad thing. Quite the opposite actually. I'm looking forward to tinkering with these new cards. All I'm saying is that this is a major game change. Never before has there been anything involving stacking cards on top of each other in this game. It certainly makes things more interesting. I remember back when Synchro monsters came, a few of duelists retired from the game. The same thing happen again. Well, whatever happens, these new Exceed monsters will be available in the 2011 Starter Deck, which will be available in North America on May 31st, so mark your calendars. In the meantime, I would like to hear what those of you reading think of these new Exceed monsters. Those of you who play the card game that is. Thanks for reading.

And the Next Series Shall Be...

I meant to post this yesterday but forgot. A few days ago I ordered Gundam SEED Destiny on DVD, which arrived a couple of days ago. I've been trying to get that series on DVD for a couple of years now, and at last I have it. The only question now is what series to get next. Right now I'm thinking Code Geass, but I'm not sure. For one thing, I don't know if Code Geass is available in a box set or not. I'll have to check that out. In the meantime, I made a list of anime that I wanted to get on DVD. I've seemed to misplaced it though. Maybe I have a copy of the list on my computer. Anyway, if anyone has suggestions for an anime series I could try getting on DVD, let me know.

2011 Birthday Bash

As some of you probably know, today is my birthday, and here is how I spent some of it so far. First, my aunt took me out to Red Lobster for lunch. They have such great popcorn shrimp. After that, my aunt and I went to Borders for some book shopping. I ended up buying the third and fourth volumes of the Code Geass manga. I also tried getting the rest of this manga anthology called Code Geass Queen, but Borders only had the first volume of said anthology, and I already have the first volume of Queen. After Borders was Best Buy, and I went there hoping to get Gundam SEED Destiny on DVD. Unfortunately, the anime section of this Best Buy was not only small, but it was also picked clean. They didn't have any anime that I wanted. I guess I'm going to have to try ordering Gundam SEED Destiny online again. I tried ordering Destiny online once before a few years ago, and they sent me the original Gundam SEED instead, which I already had. I'll try again though. After Best Buy, my aunt and I went to Target where I bought some new Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I bought two packs of Starstrike Blast and four packs of Duelist Pack Yusei Fudo 3. Unfortunately, I was still unable to find Formula Synchron (Arrrgh!) but the Duelist Packs had a couple of cards that can help me summon Formula Synchron, Boost Warrior and Stardust Xiaolong. So I'd be lying if I said that today went exactly the way I wanted it to, but it was still a good day as birthdays go. Now, for no reason, here's the full version of the opening theme song to Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, Road To Tomorrow ~Going My Way~, by Masaaki Endoh. Sorry there's no english translation.

Digimon: Call of the Ocean

Greetings readers. This first tale was inspired by an episode from the second season of the Digimon anime called, The Call of Dragomon, or as it is known in the dub, His Master's Voice. For those of you who don't remember that ...

Dark Ocean Revisited

Last night got on Youtube and watched the subtitled version of the Digimon season two episode, His Master's Voice, or as it's called in the subtitled version, The Call of Dragomon. It was quite the trip down memory lane. I really wish the writers had continued with that story line.
