Ladies and gentlemen, Styx.
Just thought I'd do a post to let everyone know how I've been doing, since I haven't done one for the past week. Things have been pretty average for me. Not really good, but not really bad either. This week I was handed a somewhat challenging project at the archive I help out at. They want to inventory every single box of collections we have there. The task pretty much involves counting boxes, seeing if anything is missing, and entering all that data into the computer. Not the most interesting project I've ever been given there, but it is something that kind of needs to be done. The challenging part is figuring out the most efficient way to do it.
There's also something going on at the moment that has me a little bummed. Last week I started up a new fanfic, and so far it's been pretty much ignored. I may have said this before in a previous post, but for me bad reviews are better than no reviews at all. Because when you don't get any reviews at all on your work, you're pretty much left wondering what you did wrong or if you did anything wrong at all. So I have no idea what the deal with this story is. It's a crossover fanfic, so I'm kind of wonder if that has something to do with it. Maybe crossovers aren't all that popular.
Of course I'm not saying that this story hasn't been getting any attention at all. There has been this one guy who's been reading it. But while his reviews aren't overly negative, they aren't exactly encouraging either. The really discouraging part though it that I've had the idea for this crossover fanfic since last summer or last fall and have been developing it for months, and now that the story's off the ground it's being pretty much ignored. I was really hoping this would be a popular fanfic. So once again my confidence in my abilities as a writer have lessened a but.
That's pretty much all that's going on with me at the moment. The only other thing worth mentioning is that my dad and I just got finished watching a very ironic episode of Almost Human that we recorded from last night. I don't know if anyone else has seen that show, but it's quite good. I strongly recommend giving it a try. Anyway, until next time.
