Ladies and gentlemen, Alannah Myles.
I heard the above song on the radio in the car this afternoon and decided to use it in the post. I actually ended up listening to more of that artist's music for a good chunk of the evening because I hadn't been familiar with her work beyond that one song. It's a real shame her career didn't do better. Anyway, I thought I'd do another post to let everyone know how I've been doing. I've been meaning to do it for the last few days and just never got around to it.
First of all, I'd like to apologize to Kita Mikichi and Crimson-Rose for not getting your prizes for winning my last wallpaper challenge done yet. I've had kind of a lot going on lately. Plus I've been a little distracted with working on this one outline for a Digimon fanfic I had an idea for. I actually got the outline done like a day or two ago, but after it was all finished I felt like I needed to take things back to the drawing board. So in a way it was kind of a waste of time. Anyway, I intend to get to work on those prizes this weekend for sure.
Now then, those who read my last post may recall that there was a really bad hailstorm that had hit my home town a couple of weeks ago. The damage from that storm was one of the things that was keeping me busy these last couple of weeks. The siding on the back of my house is pretty much just shot. I spent two whole afternoons picking up pieces of it in my backyard. That hail really just caused that siding to shatter. There were little fragments of it everywhere. It really cut into a lot of the time I use for writing.
The good news though is that I was able to pick up most of the fragments (there were some pieces that i just wasn't able to get). One of the more annoying things about the aftermath of this storm is that my dad an I have been getting an almost endless amount of roofers and other repair companies calling us and sending us things in the mail. They're like vultures swooping in to devour a dead animal. I mean when a storm like that hits, all companies like those see is dollar signs. Plus a lot of these companies are just smalltime fly-by-night operations that aren't all that good.
On another topic from my previous post, I wound up seeing a new doctor for my migraines. He ended up being a pretty nice guy. And just from my last visit, he's so far been a major improvement over my last doctor. For the last couple of years it seems like my old doctor had come down with a terminal case of not giving a crap. Plus his clinic was a real pain to drive to, so I think I made the right choice to change.
So that's pretty much all that's worth mentioning at the moment. I hope everyone else has had a pretty good couple of weeks.
And now to close the post, here's another Alannah Myles video.
