Another Fantastic Day, NOT!

Ladies and gentlemen, Journey.

Sorry if this post ends up being a bit negative, but I feel like I need to vent a little. I've been pretty stressed out today, but it's not the kind of "doom-fearing" stress that I normally feel from time to time. This is the kind of stress I feel when I want to break stuff. Things started to go a little downhill when I woke up this morning and checked my email (part of my usual morning routine). One of the things in my inbox was a pretty negative guest review for one of my Strawberry Panic one-shots on FanFiction.Net. A lot of times I usually let completely negative reviews that don't offer any constructive criticism slide, but this is like the fourth or fifth time that this story has gotten a review like this. And I'm pretty sure it's the exact same guest reviewer who's doing it.

That kind of thing just ticks me off. I mean if a person doesn't like a fanfic, then they just shouldn't read it. There's no excuse for coming back again and again to leave negative comments that don't offer any constructive criticism. I'm giving some very serious thought to moderating my guest reviews on that site. I mean I don't want to be "that guy", but if people are going to abuse the system like that, they leave me little recourse. Plus it's not just this one Strawberry Panic one-shot I've done, it's happened to another one too. And I'm pretty sure that it's the same guest reviewer too. Some people online are just jerks, I guess. But if this happens just one more time, I think I'm going to have to start moderating the reviews.

Anyway, my morning didn't get much better from there. At the archive this morning, I needed to use the computer to update the inventory of this one collection I'm reorganizing. When I got on it, I quickly noticed that the computer had a new mouse. The thing was an oversensitive piece of crap! It was like a single click was a double click. So updating the inventory and the other stuff I had to do on the computer ended up being sort of a fight. Then of course after I was all done with the computer stuff I needed to take care of, I found the regular mouse for that computer. Things would've gone so much smoother if I had found that dang mouse sooner.

So after I got all the computer stuff done, I sat down to begin reorganizing the next part of the collection I've been working on. And when I opened that first box, I was once again reminded that the person who put this collection together before I got to it was probably a complete and utter moron. We're supposed to be preserving the documents we have in these collections. And just simply cramming and bending a bunch of old documents into a single envelope that's just a little too small for those documents is kind of counterproductive to that goal. So I spent a good chunk of the morning trying to undo the damage this unknown person before me caused. I got so wound up that I ended up leaving the archive early.

The good news is that I'm doing a little better now. Earlier this afternoon I went for a long walk to calm down, despite it being over eighty degrees out. Still, this has not been one of my better days. That wraps it up for this post. I hope everyone else's day has been going better than mine has
