Ladies and gentlemen, Styx.
Hello again, everyone. Just thought I'd do a post to let everyone know that I was still around. And on that note, I've noticed that there haven't been a lot of people on TheO for the past few weeks. Seems like whenever I log in, I find like only two or three updates in my Backroom. This place has really become a ghost town, more so than before. But then I guess that could be because most of the people here have been busy with the new school year and what not. I know my dad's been pretty busy at work, since he's the head IT guy for a school district and things get pretty crazy for him at this time.
FanFiction.Net seems like it's been pretty quiet too these past few weeks. Lately I hardly get any emails from the site, and one of the stories I've been following has seen any actual updates. In fact the only thing I seem to get in my email is messages from certain political organizations asking me for money. You sign a few petitions for worthy causes like saving the internet and suddenly you get a whole bunch of emails from these groups asking you for donations. It's like I get ten of those things in my inbox every hour. And of course my spam filter isn't really keeping them out. Though I get the feeling that if I didn't have the spam filter I'd get like ten times more.
So anyway, I've been doing pretty well over these last couple of weeks. I finished the one Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL fanfic I've been working on about a week ago. The next one I plan to do should be off the ground sometime this week. I'm also still sort of dealing with the loss of my cat, Houdini. I think I'm getting used to him not being around anymore, though it's still a little lonely around the house not having him here. Even so, I've mostly been in pretty good spirits these past couple of weeks. Recently I did something that was kind of spur of them moment. I ordered some Yu-Gi-Oh! cards online. I know how dangerous it can be to order stuff from the internet, but these are some cards that I've wanted for a few years now, and for some reason I just felt like taking fate into my own hands to get them, regardless of the risks.
Of course it took a few days for this company to finally approve my order. And during that time I got kind of a scary phone call that at the time I thought was somehow connected to the order I had made. Two days after I had placed my order my house got an automated phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. The recording of the guy didn't say if he wanted to speak to me or my dad or what the issue was. All he said in the recording was that we should contact an attorney and left his phone number. Though I was so rattled that I couldn't remember what it was. Later though, my dad explained to me that the call was just a scam to trick me into giving my personal information, and that the real IRS would send a letter or something if there was actually something wrong. This was confirmed to be a scam when my aunt got the same robocall a day later.
The only other thing I think that's worth mentioning is that yesterday I watched this movie on the SyFy channel (because there was totally nothing else on) about a giant prehistoric shark fighting a giant mechanical shark built by the U.S. government. As bad as the movie was, it made me think of a couple of my favorite giant monsters from Japanese film history.
Actually, there has been another one of the Kaiju that's been on my mind recently as well.
SpaceGodzilla has served behind one of the major inspirations behind a monster I made up for the next Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL fanfic I'm going to be working on. I suppose it could technically be called a 5D's fanfic too, but I prefer not to split hairs. Anyway, since I'm on the subject, I'd like to mention another one of my favorite movie monsters.
I kind of got into Mothra after seeing her in a bunch of old Godzilla films that one weekend were being shown on the SyFy channel back when it was tolerable to watch. She's pretty cool for a giant bug. Anyway, that's pretty much it for this post. Sorry it ended up being kind of long. I just had a lot I felt like talking about. To close this post, here's something that I'm reasonably sure is a Vocaliod video of some kind. Enjoy.
