It was around noon today when I turned in the last assignment I had to do this week for my online class and decided to go for a drive out of town for some manga. I had just gotten back onto the main street after leaving the Barnes & Noble when I heard that Leonard Nimoy, known by many as Mr. Spock of the original Star Trek, had died. The news was reported on a local classic rock station. I'll probably remember that moment for years to come. It's both sad and weird that Leonard Nimoy has passed on. This was an individual that I had sort of grown up with. Before I was any other kind of fan, I was a Star Trek fan, and it's just strange that the person who played such a significant icon in my life is gone now. I guess a part of me thought he would always be around, but one of the undeniable facts of life is that just isn't the case.
Rest in peace, Mr. Nimoy. You will be missed.
