New Technology Issue

I'm afraid I have some rather dark news to report this afternoon. The desktop computer I normally use to make wallpapers and other stuff may no longer be functional. I was down in the basement easier using the computer to make cover art for my iTunes playlists (you can do that now with the new version), and suddenly I hear a sparking noise and the dang thing just shut off. I tried turning back on, and at first it looked like it was working, but then it suddenly just shut down again. It did the same thing when I tried a second time too. After that, I called my dad to ask him about what to do, and he said to try turning it on again in an hour after it's had a chance to cool down.

So at the moment, there's a chance that old desktop unit of mine may be headed for the scrapheap. There's no need for anyone to panic though, since I can still make wallpapers using my laptop. Though the controls aren't as good and I can't use some of my favorite fonts for some reason. Plus at the moment, I need the desktop unit to operate my scanner. Not that I use my scanner as often as I once did, but I like having the option for it. At the very least, it let's me scan items I can use for textures, like circuit boards from old computers.

The really annoying part is that I had just finished work on some art I made for this one Journey playlist I have on iTunes. I did a quick hand-drawn sketch that I scanned in, then it took me about an hour to colorize it. Then it took another half hour to do the background, texture and text. And finally, when it looked like everything was just right, I began to save it as a JPEG when suddenly the dang computer just decided to shut down. For all I know, all that hard work may be permanently lost. I really do hate technology sometimes.

Anyway, that's what's up with me right now. I'll try and let everyone know how things turn out. Until next time.

UPDATE: I was able to turn on the desktop computer earlier long enough to get that project I was working on save as a JPEG and transferred off onto my flash drive. I went ahead and turned it back off as soon as I was done. I'll probably have dad take a closer look at it later to see how bad the problem really is.
