Holiday Review

Ladies and gentlemen, Journey.

Hello again, everyone. Just thought I'd do a post to let everyone know how I've been doing during these past couple of weeks. I think we all know about my failed fan art challenge, so I won't be going into that. Besides that, I ended up having a pretty good Christmas. One of the gifts I got was a CD of the Journey album, Trial by Fire. The song I included at the beginning of this post is the first song on that album, hence why I included it. The other notable gifts I got this year are the book, I, Robot by Isaac Asimov, and the anime version of an old (some might say ancient) manga series known in the west as Ceres Celestial Legend. I forget what the original Japanese title of the series is, or rather how to spell it. I actually have all but three volumes of the original manga version.

Touching on that series for a few moments though, I have to say that the original manga version of Ceres is much better than the anime. The fact is that the anime version cut out way too much stuff, and I'm talking about at least two entire story arcs and a few other small details. These cuts, I'm guessing were made in order to fit the manga's original story into a twenty-four episode anime series. Of course the anime version of Ceres does have some stunning visuals that one simply can't get with a black and white manga, not to mention a beautiful opening theme. All in all, it was still a very good anime, yet it doesn't quite measure up to the original manga. Some day I'm going to have to get my hands on the last three volumes of that series, though that's probably easier said than done considering how old it is. Of course I'm guessing I could probably find them on Amazon or some other website.

Besides Christmas, everything else has been going pretty good for me. This past Wednesday I finally saw the new Star Wars movie with my dad and my aunt. I have to say, that movie ended up being far better than I expected it would be. Of course I was expecting the movie to totally suck, despite all the positive reviews it had been getting. Can anyone really blame me for that though? I mean the prequels sucked, except for maybe the last one, and the whole franchise ended up getting bought by Disney. No one could hold it against me for being a bit jaded about the franchise after stuff like that.

That's pretty much all there is to report. Until next time, here's an image of Yugo and Rin from Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V.

I really want to make a wallpaper featuring these two.
