Hello again everyone. The reason for this post is that I just finished the second of two books that I recently acquired and wanted to tell everyone about them. I'd first like to tell everyone about how I got them, because it is kind of interesting. For the last few months I've been volunteering regularly at my town's public library, and for much of this past month I've been helping with stripping some of their old books. For those wondering what I mean by stripping, it's taking the books that the library chose to weed (remove) from its collection and taking off its spine label and library barcode. The books that have since been stripped are going to be sold at a book sale for one dollar a piece to raise money for future library endeavors. And since our town's library is going to be moving to a new location, any extra money it can get can only help.
One afternoon about a week or two ago as I was helping out with the stripping project, I came across a pair of books that kind of called out to me. They had interesting cover illustrations, and the plots of both of them just sounded really interesting. Later that same week I asked the library director when the book sale was going to be so I could have a chance to buy them, and she said I could just take them since they were only going to be sold for a buck each anyway. So I rescued those two books from the book sale, which probably would've resulted in them going to the recycling bin if nobody there wanted to buy them. Anyway, below are the two books that I've been going on about.

That website I used isn't giving as much info on the first book as I had hoped. In any case, these books are two halves of the same story, which I should add is a fantasy story. One of the things I really liked about these two books is that I can totally see them being adapted into an anime series, or at least a manga series. In fact if you clicked on the link for the second book and scrolled down to where it shows the cover art for the August 1990: USA Paper back version, that cover art could easily be redone in anime style. Or at least it could in my opinion.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the existence with these books with everyone. One thing I will add is that they both seem to be fairly old. They came out when the 1980s turned into the 1990s. I've also just found out (while getting the links to the info for these books, as a matter of fact) that these books have a sequel that apparently came out in 1998. I haven't read that book because the library didn't have that book or they just weren't getting rid of it. Guess I've already found something to put down on my Christmas list for this year.
So I strongly recommend giving these two books I've just told you all about a look. You won't regret it.
