In Search of Another Venue

Hello everyone. I know it's seemed like eons since I've posted anything on this site. To be perfectly honest I haven't visited here in quite a long time. At some point I started to wonder why I should bother. I mean it's seemed like the site has gone downhill over time, and a lot of users have been vanishing. But the main reason why I stopped coming here for a while is because I had been putting a lot more energy into my fan fiction writing. Well my writing is the reason why I've come back here today.

I don't know how many of you reading visit Fanfiction.net, but the site has been down since yesterday morning. I've read online that some people have apparently been able to get onto the site via the mobile app, but for many of us using a laptop or desktop computer, the site has become inaccessible. Plus I personally have been having email issues with the site on and off for at least the past year. I really have to wonder about the people who run FFN. It's like they don't care anymore.

So with FFN being down for nearly two days now, I've started to think about what my next move should be. It's occurred to me that FFN probably isn't the only game in town when it comes to posting fan fiction stories online. So I'm thinking maybe I should start posting some of my stories on one of these other venues. I'd still post stuff on FFN (assuming the site ever comes back up), but having another venue for my stories would be good for me. It'd potentially mean more readers.

Before I dive into Google to look for other possible fan fiction sites though, I thought I'd turn to another online community I know and ask for help. So if anyone reading knows of some good fan fiction sites I could make use of besides FFN, please let me know.

Bear in mind that it would have to be a site that allows mature content, as some of my stories tend to lean in that direction. I do a lot of romance stories, so it comes with the territory.

UPDATE: FFN seems to be up and running again...for now. I'd still like another venue to post some of my fanfics though, because this experience has made me feel like I've been putting all my eggs in one basket. So if anyone knows of another good site where I can post stuff, please let me know.

Also, big thanks to Keba Si Rota for their suggestion of using AO3. I haven't checked that site out yet, but I plan to very soon.
