Ladies and gentlemen, the theme from Digimon Survive.
Hello again everyone. The reason I chose the above video for the opening of this post is because I've been replaying Digimon Survive quite extensively for the last few days (and because I couldn't think of any other songs for the opening). Honestly, it almost feels like I've been playing that game for the entire month. I guess that's because it's just a really long game to get through. I did my own little review post of Digimon Survive only a few days ago. For anyone who missed it, you can read it by clicking here.
Of course I said in that review that I wouldn't try playing through all four of the game's possible endings in a single save file, and that is exactly what I've been endeavoring to do. So I guess that post aged incredibly poorly. Anyway, I've now gotten through two of the four possible endings, including the one ending in the game that I had never attempted to play through at all. Honestly, that ending is probably my least favorite of the four, and won't get into my reasons why I dislike it because they are pretty spoiler heavy. I will mention though that this ending has one of the weirdest Digimon DNA evolutions (or fusions) that I have seen in the franchise.
You can click the links in the above equation to find out which Digimon I'm talking about, but that fusion makes no sense to me! Anyway, I'm nearly done with the third ending of the game. I plan to finish it today or tonight, but I need to do some level grinding first. Once I clear this ending, I plan to take a little break from the game and tackle the true ending again towards the end of next month. Repeating the first eight chapters in that game's story three times in a row in a relatively quick window was kind of exhausting.
Well, in last month's post I talked about how I was trying to get an old dresser in my living quarters replaced with a new bookcase, so I should probably talk about how that went. It actually occurred to me not long after I had done the last monthly update that I could try donating the old dresser to charity, so I called the local Goodwill and asked if they took donated furniture, and if they could send some guys to pick up the donated furniture in question. The gentleman I spoke to over the phone said that they do take donated furniture, and that the company's website had a link to a service that let's one hire two guys and a truck to come and pick up suck donations. So, as soon as I found the website for this pickup service, I immediately ordered the bookcase I wanted. Once I found out what the delivery date for the bookcase would be, I arranged the donation pickup for the same day.
The actual operation to install the new bookcase and get rid of the old dresser took a lot of preparation and planning, but it turned out to be a fairly smooth process in the end. The whole thing went down on Star Wars Day. I purposely woke up early that morning to do some last minute cleaning at move the old dresser out of my quarters. Getting that old thing out of the way by myself was a lot easier than I thought it'd be. The guys delivering the new bookcase came late in the morning. Once they had placed the bookcase where I wanted it in my quarters, I found I had to adjust the top shelf, which turned out to be a pain in the ass.
The guy I spoke to at the furniture store said that the shelves for this particular model were adjustable, but he failed to explain what the process for adjusting the shelves involved. I had to remove some wood screws on the underside of the shelf that were holding it in place and then screw them back in once it was adjusted to the proper height, and those damn screws did not want to cooperate easily. Anyway, the donation pickup guys came later that same afternoon. In fact they came a little later than I would've liked, because I was trying to get all of this done before my dad came back from work. Still, everything worked out okay, and I now have a proper place for all of my magical girl manga.
I also spent a good chunk of this month rewatching Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny. The reason for this is because I had gotten the Gundam SEED Freedom movie on disc shortly before the end of last month. Unfortunately I wound up having to stream said movie from Netflix again, because it turned out that my disc copy of the movie is incompatible with my blu-ray player. It turns out that 4K Ultra HD is different from normal Blu-ray Discs. So I guess I need to get a blu-ray player that can also run DVDs and 4K Ultra HD.
I did find such a unit at the Best Buy relatively close to where I live, though I've yet to actually purchase it. The unit in question runs for about three hundred and twenty bucks, which isn't bad. I mean that's less than what I paid for my Switch 2. Still, I want to take some time and see what some of my other options are before I make a purchase. Besides, I'm not super eager to spend a huge amount money right now, especially since the process of getting a new bookcase and getting rid of an old dresser cost me just under six hundred bucks. Still, I think I may try and get a new player before the end of the coming month.
