You walked up the hill, in search of the one and only Nara Shikamaru. Your Shika-senses, as you called them, were on red alert. He was close, VERY close. Your eyes scanned the surrounding meadow carefully, trying to distinguish in the little sunlight left the oddly-Shika-shaped dirt piles and Shikamaru himself.
You smirked to yourself as you saw the finely defined shape of Shikamaru. If there were any doubts that that wasn’t him, they were pushed away when the figure fidgeted slightly.
“Shika-chan!” you said as you rested your head beside Shikamaru’s. He winced slightly at your nickname for him before he glanced over at you from where you laid beside him in ‘his meadow’. You smiled happily at him as you snuggled into his side.
“Hn…?” he said as he turned his head so that his ear rested on the top of your head. You blinked at the odd position, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
“I heard you calling me…” You said, a playful smirk on your face. He blinked.
“I didn’t call you.” He said, and you rolled your eyes.
“But you should have!” you mock-complained, with a smile on your pretty face. He rolled his eyes as he began to turn his head to face the sky again, but felt a firm tug at his ear.
“Ow!” you complained as Shikamaru shifted beside you. He frowned as he tried to move his head but found that when he did, he again felt a tug at his earlobe.
“What, [Name]-chan?” he asked annoyed. You pouted as you attempted to soothe your scalp.
“I think my hair’s stuck to your earring,” you said as you winced when he tried to tug himself free. “Ow!”
“I think you’re right…” he said as he moved to tug your hair free from his earring and had an answering ‘Ow’ to his attempt.
“Here, let me.” You said as you reached up to free yourselves; both of you in a kneeling position now. Your fingers brushed against his for a mere second and lingered there a moment before he cleared his throat and removed his hand from his earring. Were you the only one that felt the tingling sensation?
You focused your attention on freeing your hair…and your hair didn’t want to cooperate. You glared out into the sky, unable to turn your head as of yet.
“Couldn’t you just cut your hair?” asked Shikamaru in an irritated tone. You set your lips into a thin line.
“Why don’t we just rip out your earring?” you replied snippily. He sighed, knowing it was best to stay quiet when you were annoyed with him. You tugged your hair this way and that before it’s death grip on his earring finally began to loosen.
“I think it’s working!” You said, your mood brightening. Shikamaru sighed again as your finger brushed his earlobe delicately. He felt chills run up and down his spine, foreign to him, but he liked it.
“Yes!” You cheered as you finally freed yourself from his earring. He smiled at your triumphant expression as he propped himself up on his elbow. You stayed kneeling on your knees beside your beloved Shikamaru.
“So…” you said, wondering what to say now. He smirked slightly as he brushed some of your [color] hairs behind your ear.
“Hair as troublesome as its owner.” He remarked, smiling slightly. You blushed as his fingers caressed your cheek softly, but shrugged indifferently.
“Whose to say that you aren’t the troublesome one?” you countered, smirking slightly. He smiled as he touched his ear thoughtfully and looked you in the eyes.
“I think we both have some trouble around us…” he observed. You smiled slightly leaning in close to him, so that your faces were mere inches apart.
“I think I like trouble.” You said, a playful grin on your face. “It brought us together.”
Shikamaru opened his mouth to say something, but you didn’t give him the chance. Your lips met his and they froze under yours, before gradually relaxing before you pulled away.
“Trouble doesn’t seem so bad anymore…” he mused, after he blinked a few times. You chuckled.
“Ah well, I never had a problem with it before.” You said as you pressed your lips against his softly a few more times.
