A Friend in Need

I felt what was sunlight hitting my face. I slowly opened my eyes and realized I was laying in a warm pool of water.

"I've died again."

"That's a funny thing to say."

I didn't even notice the young girl that had walked up.

"You shouldn't sleep outside, especially on a night when it stormed."

I slowly sat up, and realized that I was laying in a puddle of water in the middle of a field.

"I don't remember even going outside, much less why I would sleep outside."

She giggled.

"You are so silly, but enjoy your second chance Blue Eyes."

She slowly began to fade away and the field slowly became a city. I found my self sitting in the middle of an alley. I could taste blood in my mouth, and the smell on my clothes. My ribs hurt and I could tell I had been in a fight, and I had lost quite of bit of blood. I slowly got up, and began walking to the main street. It was exactly how it was suppose to be, a quite simple city street. I walked home, and before I got to my room I took my shoes off to not track mud. I set them just under my bed, went and checked on my cut. It had already been stitched up. I changed into some comfy shorts, laid on my bed and starred at the ceiling. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a book on the book case. I picked it up and read the cover out loud.

"Death Spares an Old Friend."

Who would have known that even Death could just want a friend.
