La Llorona

This is my very first post here!! It's awesome that i got more than 80 views on here even though nothing is posted. I am so skill :D

So right here is a legend call La Llorona. In legends there are some truth to it, so i'm guessing that this story is based on a true story.
Anyway, this is a legend that i heard from my co-worker at work.
Here is a link to the full story: http://literacynet.org/lp/hperspectives/llorona.html

In the version she heard, there was a beautiful young woman, named Maria and she married a handsome and wealthy ranchero. They lived happily together and had two children. Soon the ranchero went back to his wild life in the prairies and he had to leave his home up to a few months at a time. Whenever he came back to visit he only paid attention to the children. Maria then developed angered towards her children, envying the attention they got from their dad. To worsen her anger, her husband was thinking of marrying a wealthy woman to match his status. One day she and her children were walking by a river and a carriage came passing by. In it were the ranchero and another woman. The ranchero stopped to only talk to the children and later left without a word to Maria nor did he look at her. It is said that Maria was filled with so much anger afterward that she tossed her two children into the river. As they disappeared in the river, she quickly regretted what she had done. So she ran after her children but it was too late. The next morning her body was found by the river and she was buried. Not too long after that, people started hearing a woman crying by the river. It was Maria looking for her children. Maria is then known as the weeping woman. Now people warn little kids to not wander at night or they would be taken by La Llorona and will never be seen again.

hope you enjoy that. There's more to come :D
