Ugh. Unknown keyboard combo's can do all sorts of silly things (like post prematurely).
So. How is the world on this... fine January of the new year? By that, I mean "How are you?".
As for myself "I'm all right." The semester has started up again and my classes will once again divide me from my hobbies, but that's okay...
Thanks for clicking. I really do appreciate thinking someone out there sees me as someone worth clicking on. I have a little hard time talking to others online and offline, so this means a bit when someone tries to take interest in my attempt to reach out for conversation.
I've been awfully focused on my fan-manga. Goodness, seven years all ready and I've made it to chapter three *waves a tiny sparkler*. You'd think I'd have gotten further? Yeah. It's reasonable to think that, but with life and some serious planning still going into the story- I feel like it's fair to say I've done all right for a one-artist team who's wanting to bring you quality-ish work with a touch of personal flair to her fan-comic!
Oh! I also picked up streaming work. If anyone visits Picarto.tv; I am picarto.tv/BunnyMonarchy. Subscribe to get updates of when I start streaming- as my viewer pool isn't big enough to encourage me to consider scheduling.
Let me get this out there, while I'm here....
[ This is the rant, mind you]
Do not inform me of about comparisons concerning published concepts or characters and my artistic expression.
Hey, if you see something in one of my characters that reminds you of your character and you want to tell me about it, FINE! Yes! I'd love to hear about your character if you'd want to hear about mine! Simple as that!
However, overall, comparison statements based on published/popular culture material comes off as down-right rude to me. It makes me feel like what I'm doing isn't creative.
Some instances, yes, I don't mind: "Hey, this [my item] feels like a version of [something]. [plus maybe a complement/or critique] "
Otherwise, (often due to the choice of wording) those kind of comments are diminishing to me- and I assure you I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS OPINION!!!
"Sounds like [something] to me." or "Reminds me of [character/game/anime/etc]."
Me: "Yeah. Okay. Sure. Thanks." -uninterested-
If that's how you're intending to comment on my work, please re-consider!
Does it make me sound cold? Can't say. I'm just voicing how I FEEL about this! It's my opinion! Being socially reserved (yet still willing to strongly voice your opinions) doesn't necessarily make one a cold-hearted person.
Hmmnnmmm....
Does reading this alter any perception you have of me? I still have the fullest intentions of being kind and polite to my fellow TheOtaku-Artists and appreciators!
Here's hoping you understand.
