This is a 2011 film from Studio Ghibli. It is a beautiful film with studio Ghibli's signature scenries and great animation. I couldn't find a single technical flaw in the whole movie.
Set in 1963 Yokohama, Japan, the film tells the story of Umi Matsuzaki, a high school girl living in a boarding house, with her two siblings, a younger brother and sister. Her mother studies in America and her father was a sailor who did when his ship sunk in a mine during the Korean war. When Umi meets Shun Kazama, a member of the school's newspaper club, they decide to clean up the school's clubhouse, which is in the danger demolishment so that a new building can be built in its place. Umi and Shun, along with Shirō Mizunuma, must persuade the chairman of the school board to reconsider. Along this journey Umi and Shun find things about their lives which entwines them together into a journey which changes their lives.
I totally recommend this film, do watch it guys!
