Stereo-typing – You’re either in or out.

Ok, so let’s say that you knew me, the type of persona that im am interested in is classified in stereotypical form as ‘emo’, but if you took a look at me in a normal situation you would think of me as an average ‘teen’. The things that we teenagers and kids come up with are just ridiculous! For some reason people in my school just make groups to form personalities about certain people, half the time they don’t even know the person directly. From my point of view, People shouldn’t be placed in situations or categories that they might not even be in. Yes we all come to know these days that there are groups so called; Emo, Plastic, Hippies, Nerds etc. But who are we to judge a book by its cover or to govern their thought of mind. One girl I met, clothed in back from head to toe, Black lipstick, hair, nails everything, but this particular girl loved surfing, and writing, and colourful and happy things. Now let’s say that you saw her... What would you think about her? What would pop into your mind? One word. Emo. This word was evolved from our “young” society and just happened to classify her as emo, or Goth. When really she hated screamo music and hardcore stuff, sure she dressed like an emo or Goth but that doesn’t mean for her to be put into a single cult or society, or a figure of someone’s imagination of how a Goth/emo has to look, dress and do. Another stereo type that I, personally is sick of is the word ‘popular’, to me popular means in stereotypical form is people who have lots of friends, but not many of them would stick around, if he or she was out casted from the group i wonder how many people would stick around? Probably none. But popular also can mean that you can have a lot of great friends all over the place, whether they be emo, hippies, surfies, whatever and whatever happens you can rely on these people mainly because you haven’t judged them or had been forced into a Stereo type of your own and can manage these people being your friends, whether they are in your cult or not. To me stereo typing is just ludicrous! And I think that everyone should just get over putting people into certain groups or categories that they necessarily shouldn’t be in.
