Ikkaku's Birthday: Part 2

Korosu yawned and started walking. She remembered where Orihime lived, so she went to go visit her. Only she would know what's best to buy guys for their birthday.

She arrives at Orihime's apartment and rung the doorbell. Korosu heard the locked come undone then watched the door open.

"Koro-chan! It's good to see you. What brings you here?" Orihime asked happily.

Korosu looked down and hid her slightly red cheeks. "I need you... To help me find a good birthday present for... Erm..." before she could finish, she was cut off.

"That's right! Ikkaku's birthday is tomorrow, isn't it? And you want to buy him a present that symbolizes your love for him!" Orihime grabbed Korosu's hands and smiled widely. "Don't worry, Koro-chan! Orihime will help you find the perfect present!"

Korosu stared at Orihime. "Wait, no! I didn't mean it like that!" Orihime smiled and nodded, completely ignoring Korosu, letting go of one hand but holding on to the other and quickly rushed out of the building and towards the mall. "O-Orihime!!!!!!"

"Okay, the first thing you need to know about buying a present is knowing what they like." Orihime said to Korosu once they entered the mall. Korosu was worn out and lost her intent to strangle Orihime for her misreadings.

Korosu straightened herself and looked around the place. There was absolutely nothing in sight that Ikkaku would like for his birthday. They walked around the mall until they found an antique store.

"Shall we window shop?" Orihime asked. Korosu looked at her, confused.

"Window shopping is looking at a stores items through the window." Orihime smiled. "I'm sure you'll find something in here."

Korosu sighed and nodded and started to look in the store. Then she saw it. A dragon figure that looked exactly the same as the dragon design on Ikkaku's bankai. 'I wonder if he'll like this?' she thought to herself.

She walked into the store with Orihime following behind her. She brought the figure to the cash register and paid for it.

Orihime smiled at Korosu once they were out of the store. "I'm sure Ikkaku will love it! Especially if you bought it for him. Heehee."

Korosu smirked and looked at the dragon. She just had to wait until tomorrow to give it to him.

She waved good-bye to Orihime and passed through the seireitei once again to return home. She made a card like Orihime told her to, and decorated a box with colorful paper and placed the dragon figure inside.

During the night, Korosu realized that she couldn't easily hand it to Ikkaku in the morning. So she walked over to his room and left it outside his door. "I need to remember to give him one last special present tomorrow. One that can't be put in a colorful box." she whispered to herself. Then she went back to her room and headed to sleep.

The next morning came and she woke to a knock at her door. She lazily crawled over and slide open the door. She looked up and saw Ikkaku with a slight smile. "Mornin' cueball... I was havin' a nice dream, thanks for wakin' me up..." she was kidding, but still pissed that she got woken up way to early.

Ikkaku rolled his eyes. "Got anything else you wanna say to me? Or do you want me to read it from this card?" He smirked.

Korosu flopped down onto her back. "Go ahead and read it. See if I give a damn."

Ikkaku smirked. "What ever floats your boat." He held up the card and started reading it aloud. "'Happy birthday, Ikkaku. I bet you thought I wouldve forgotten. But i didn't. It was tough getting you a present, but I hope that what i found will suit your likings. The dragon reminded me of the design on your bankai, so that's what I got for you. Anyways, you will recieve one last present in the morning. It's something that cannot be put into a box. Happy birthday, once again. Korosu'"

Ikkaku looked down at Korosu who was falling asleep again. "So what's this last present you have for me, hmmm?"

Korosu opened her eyes and rolled over. She got up and looked around outside to make sure no one else was around. Once making sure they were alone, she smirked.

"Your final present is the one thing that you'll probably rarely receive." She took a step towards Ikkaku and kissed him quickly on the lips. "I love you, birthday boy." She grinned and left Ikkaku standing frozen and blushing a deep red.

Happy Birthday, Ikkaku <3
