Dark&Pure: Chapter 2

"Princess... Give me your hand..."

"Who are you...?"

Color faded onto the scene. A young man in all black approached the young princess who was dressed in a white wedding dress.

"Let's run away together, Princess..."

"I... I can't..." the girl looked down. "I'm to be married soon..."

"He isn't your true love, though... I am..."

The girl kept her gaze on the ground.

"Princess..."

She looked up, only to find the scene completely different from before. Before, they were in a meadow somewhere, now, they were in a dungeon...

"What...?!"

The young man grinned. "You're mine now, Princess..."

Jeni woke up in a cold sweat. "W-wha...? What in the world was that all about..?" she sighed. Just as she was about to return to her slumber, one of her maids walked in and drew the blinds open to the bright sun. Jeni groaned and covered her head with her blanket.

"Princess. It's time to wake up." the maid said. She gently pulled the covers off of Jeni and smiled. "It's a big day today, and there is much preparation to get done."

The maid helped the sleepy Jeni out of bed. Jeni walked down to the dining hall for breakfast. To her surprise, the Prince was already there waiting for her. He smiled at her.

"Good morning, my dear." He walked over to her, bowed and kissed the back of her hand. "And might I say, you look very cute this morning." he chuckled.

Jeni blushed, suddenly embarrassed. Her hair was a mess still and she was walking around in her nightgown. "Ah! F-forgive me, Ryoki..!" she flustered. "I shouldn't be walking around like this while you are here..."

Ryoki laughed and patted Jeni's head. "It's quite alright. We are to be wed in just a few hours, are we not? There's nothing for you to be embarrassed about anymore." he smiled. "And by the way, I thought I've told you to call me Ryo."

Jeni nodded. "You have, Ryoki... But... I just feel more comfortable by calling you Ryoki for the time being." she returned a soft smile to him.

The Prince chuckled. "As you wish, my Princess. Now, I must be off. Lots to do before the wedding!" he leaned over and and placed a kiss on Jeni's cheek. "I shall see you soon, my love. And soon we'll be together forever." He bowed to the servants and followed his own out of the mansion.

Jeni couldn't help but feel nervous. She knew he would see her in this state sooner than she knew it. But she was always the type to be shy with everything.

She went on with her everday morning activites then got led off by her servant to start getting ready.

Jeni stood still as her servants put her wedding dress on. "You look stunning, Young Miss. The prince is lucky to have you." Jeni's personal maid told her. Jeni blushed and smiled. Though... She had the feeling that something wasn't right...

Jeni lost her breath when they started tightening her dress. "T-too... Tight...!" she gasped.

"We can't have your dress falling off now." Her personal maid said while tying the top off. "There. Now let's go get your hair and make-up, young miss."

Before she was dragged away again, her father entered the room. "Jeni..." he looked her over and smiled. "You look beautiful. Just like your mother."

Jeni nodded. "Thank you, father." she returned he father's smile. She knew it was hard for him to see her in her mother's dress. She passed away two years before, her father has still been grieving since. Despite the loss, her father insisted that she wore her mother's wedding dress. It was what she would have wanted.

The King turned towards the door. "Once you're done, Jeni, the limo is waiting for you downstairs." he smiled once more before leaving.

Jeni was dragged away and had her hair fixed up and her make-up done. Her servants finished it by placing her headband and veil on top her head. They all stepped back and smiled. "This is such a wonderful day, Princess. We're so proud."

Jeni looked down and became lost in thought. 'Am I really ready for this? I thought I was.. But after yesterday..."

Her maid shook her out of her thoughts. "Come, Young Miss. It's time for us to go now." Jeni nodded and followed her out.

Jeni sat in the back of the limo silently and looked out the window at the passing scenes. She began to daydream again...

They returned to the dungeon that faded from before. The young girl looked around frantically. The young man that was with her had disappeared.

"Where has he gone...?" she began to walk down a long corridor.

"Princess..." a faded voice reached the girl's ears.

"That can't be me being called..." she wondered aloud.

"Princess..." the voice said again. "I love you, Princess..."

"Ryoki...?" she called out. 'wait. How do I know that name? No... That can't be right. This voice sounds different.'

"Come closer, Princess..."

The girl kept walking into darkness. She escaped the dark and entered into a church. A wedding seemed to be starting soon. A young man was standing at the altar. The girl started to walk towards it but was stopped by a hand on her shoulder.

"Princess..." the voice said in her ear. "He's wrong for you..."

The girl whipped around only to find nothing.

"Princess..." another voice said. It echoed. Over and over again. Until the scene came to an end in an instant.

"Princess!!"

Jeni snapped her eyes opened immediately. She looked around and saw her servant looking concerned.

"Oh, thank goodness." she said. "Are you alright, Princess? You were passed out cold."

Jeni nodded. "O-oh. Of course. I'm fine. Just a little tired I guess." she quietly laughed and got out of the limo. They have already arrived to the church.

The servant smiled. "It's time, young miss. It's best not to keep the Prince waiting much longer."

Jeni hurried over to the doors of the church and opened them. Music filled the room just as the doors opened. The servant handed Jeni her bouquet of pink roses.

On the altar, Ryoki looked over and smiled gently. "My Princess." he whispered under his breath.

Jeni took a deep breath and began to walk down the aisle slowly. Everyone was watching her. Some of her friends were crying. There was only one person who she did not see show up. The Dark Lord. She was relieved, but somehow disappointed at the same time. She quickly sighed and stepped up onto the altar.

Ryoki took Jeni's hands in his. "Jeni. You look more beautiful than the brightest star in the night sky." he said with sincerity. Jeni just smiled with a small blush.

"We're gathered here today..." The priest began.

A loud crash from the front of the church sounded and the room filled with screams. Everyone pointed up to the top window that was now blown out and glass rained ontop of the ones near it.

Jeni took the risk and looked up. She gasped when she saw the boy from the night before standing on the window's ledge. "Rein!!" she screamed.

Ryoki stepped in front of Jeni with a look that could kill. "Dark Lord!! What in the hell are you doing here?! I demand that you leave now!" he yelled at him.

Rein grinned mischieviously. "You demand that I leave now?" he chuckled at that. "Of course I'll leave! After I take what I came here for!!" he said.

Ryoki's hands formed into fists. "What the hell do you mean...?"

Rein closed his eyes and smirked. "Exactly what I say, dear prince." his grin widen as his eyes opened. "I came for your beloved Princess Jeni."

Jeni was taken aback by this. Her eyes never left the sight of Rein. With where he was standing, she saw him as a dark angel at the moment...

Ryoki growled. "You'll do no such thing! I'll have your head before I let you get to Jeni!" He was about to continue but in just a blink of an eye, Rein disappeared. "Wha...??" Ryoki heard a small squeak from behind.

He turned around instantly and saw where Rein had gone. He was holding Jeni in his arms and was in position to disappear with her. "What was that about having my head?"

Jeni was speechless the whole time. Once she realized that she was in Rein's arms in a second, her cheeks heated up immediately. She finally figured out what was wrong with her. She was in love with Rein...

"Put. Her. Down." Ryoki growled.

Rein chuckled and held Jeni closer to him. "You'll have to catch me first, my friend." he disappeared once again, with the princess and all.

Ryoki spun back around to window, where Rein stood with Jeni in his arms and Jeni holding herself close with her arms around his neck. To the Prince's surprise, Jeni wasn't scared. The worst that he could ever think of had just happened. And he would never forgive Rein for charming her.

Rein laughed in victory. "The Princess is now mine!! And I plan to never return her." they disappeared once again with his laughter echoing through the church.

Ryoki fell to his knees. Rein's laugh ringing through his head. "How dare he trick Jeni into falling in love with him..."

When he was sure that they were in a completely safe place, Rein stopped and sent the princess down. She still kept her arms around him and kept herself close. Rein blushed slightly.

"Y-you can let go now, Princess..." He said. The princess just shook her head. "I don't want to..." she said. "I... Love you."

Rein stared down at her in surprise. Now he knew he couldn't hold back. He held Jeni in a tight hug. "...Jeni... I love you, too." he spoke aloud, surprising even himself.
