The next morning began just like any other. But a depressed aura filled the castle of pure. The King paced back and forth with Prince Ryoki bowing down and waiting for the King to speak.
"Oh how could this ever happen!" The young-looking king cried. "My poor baby girl! Kidnapped and hypnotized by that wretched Rein!" he sighed heavily and fell back onto his throne.
Ryoki straightened up and looked at the king who was burying his face in his hands. "My King... I thoroughly despise bringing news like this to you. But it is the truth, I'm afraid."
"Have you found where Rein's castle is?"
Ryoki looked down and away from the king when he looked up. "I'm afraid that we haven't yet. And I searched all night, but alas, nothing,"
"It's worse than I thought then." The King said. He grabbed his staff and stood up. "Call in the military. This is the sign of a war beginning. And if that is the Dark Lord's intention, he'll get it."
Rein was abruptly woken up to his servant bursting into his room. "My Lord!! The Princess has gone missing!!"
Rein busted through the doors to Jeni's room. "Jeni!!" He stopped when he saw that nothing was around. The only kind of life was the open window and the light breeze moving the curtains. The Prince walked around, trying to pick up any sense of anything left behind. "I think I know who took her..."
The jet-black haired girl giggled and took off her pointed hat. "That was quite fun, wasn't it, Chaos-dear~?" she looked back and gave her partner a dark and sweet smirk.
Chaos nodded. Even though his face was hidden by a scarf, his crystal blue eyes seemed to smile back. "You always come up with the best ideas, Banshee."
Banshee laughed. "But of course!" Sliding off her cape, she walked over to the couch and looked down at the sleeping Princess. "We just need to keep this spell on our new puppet until we can figure out what to do with her." the girls ruby red eyes sparked with mischief.
Rein banged on his sister's door. "Mari! Open up!!"
Mari opened the door, still in her noghtwear and wearing a grumpy look on her face. "What is it, Rein? Do you realize how early it is?"
"One, I'm not sorry for waking you up. Two, where's Jeni?"
"How the hell should I know?" Mari yawned.
"So... You didn't hide her on me any time during the night?"
"You're kidding me, right?"
Rein groaned and stepped away from the door. "Then who...?"
"Why don't you go ask Banshee and her boyfriend? I haven't seen them in a few hours. I'm positive they're up to no good." Mari looked her brother up and down then slammed the door on him.
Rein blinked, stayed silent for a moment, then went into a mini rage. "Bansheeeee... Chaoooosss....!!" He growled, and stomped off towards their domain of the castle.
Banshee and Chaos both sneezed at the same time.
"That was odd..." Banshee sniffled. Chaos nodded in agreement.
The King sat upon his throne, staring at the General in front of him.
The military general bowed deeply. "You're majesty, I'm sorry, but I cannot understand your motive to this request."
The King frowned. "My Daughter has been kidnapped... Yet you refuse to meet my demands?"
The General straightened his posture. "But... Your Majesty, I understand the situation, but the military refuses to attack a territory that is undefended itself. As you can tell, the Dark Lord is a one man army."
The King sighed and rested his chin on his palm. "I see. Then you are dismissed, General."
The General bowed deeply again before making his leave.
Ryoki stepped out from the sidelines and bowed. "My King. I agree with you that this is the sign of a beginning war, but I also must agree with the General's reasoning."
The King stared at Ryoki for a moment, becoming lost in thought. "Ryoki. Retrieve Isabelle."
Rein stormed through his castle, quickly making is way to the witch and wizard's domain. "You are both going to learn a good lesson in pain today." he growled. Reaching the door to their room, he kicked down the door, making a destructive entrance.
The shadow cat that Banshee owned yawned and stretched itself on the couch, and curled up into a ball again, paying no attention to the raging brunette.
Rein stepped farther into the very large and spacious room, furnished with very expensive gothic style furniture. He looked around, staying cautious of his surrondings. Besides the sleeping shadow cat, not a single living this was inhabiting the room.
Rein sighed in disappointment, before leaving, something glittered in the corner of his eyes. Curious, he walked over and picked it up, eyeing it carefully.
The Dark Lord's eyes widened. "They did take her."
Even though the ring meant nothing to her anymore after yesterday, Rein tightened his grip on the engagement ring that used to be worn on Jeni's finger. Dropping it on the ground, he rushed back out of the room and headed towards the only area left in the castle that the duo would disappear to.
The shadow cat sneezed and glared as she watched her distraction finally leave.
